I bought 4 of these, 3 to put in a side shed area and one to put in with my weanlings. Within a week the one with the weanlings already had a broken bar. These are far too flimsy to use with any horse. Within about a month of use, all four had been torn to pieces.

In response to the previous customer review, I must say I have had no issues with these hay racks, having 4 of them mounted as instructed in the handy video I found on this website! Granted they are not made of nondestructive materials, but my geldings have eaten out of them for several months and they are holding up fine.

Like the other reviewer, I am very dissappointed with the quality of these hay racks. The hinged bars bend very easily and my 2 year old filly broke every bar in one night scratching her butt on it! It's now in the trash. This also brings up safety issues. Don't waste your money with this one!

We bought 2 of these for our horses, and these were not strong enough. Once the horses started to rub their butts on them, the racks crumbled and had to be removed. They went to the trash and now we are researching for something that will hold up.

We use these in our 8 stall barn and have had no problems what so ever. Horses are from 4 years - 25 years old.
You do have to mount them up high your horse shouldn't be rubbing it's butt on them!
We love them!

Several years ago I purchased four hay racks for my barn and within 2 weeks two were destroyed beyond use. The other two were extremely bent up and I quit using them and removed them. The units are flimsy and made of very thin tubing, totally unsuitable for feeding horses. Two units had to be trashed, the other two were installed in the goat pen and that is where they remain. Not suitable for anything larger!

This product is too flimsy for horses. I bought two and both broke within one month. One of my horses also scratched his head up badly on one when it broke. These are not only a waste of money, but a safety hazard for horses.

We have six of these hayracks and have been very satisfied. If installed properly they work great. In the picture they look like they are mounted down low but like most hayracks they should be up higher so the horse pulls hay out through the bars.

We have two mounted in stalls. My horses are extremely destructive and have not hurt these racks. I am sure for more money you can buy sturdier racks but so far these work fine.
