I bought my charger in mid 2006. Today, after several months of disuse, sitting in the shade, I hooked it up again but noticed it wasn't producing a charge anymore. The ol' voltmeter reported that the battery was toasted (only putting out 1.6V) but that the charger, in the sun, was still going strong (actually outputting nearly 8V). So I am ordering a new battery. I'd say that after 3 years of use (outside, exposed to the full elements year 'round), it's worth it! And most importantly, my little charger is going strong. I highly recommend this charger.

This charger works great and is a good buy for the money. I have found them to last about two years. I have had two of them go out, the replacement batteries are hard to find. Otherwise this product really works well.

I just bought two of these and decided to try one first, just to make sure it works. I live in Maine, where we have had literally 2 hours sun in the last 6 days, which is when I installed the charger. I put a tester on it this morning and it is pulling 6000 volts!!! I am very impressed and will be installing the second one today.

I had previously bought a Zabera solar fence charger that was apparently made to hold in hamsters. I could literally walk up to the fence and hang onto it and the shock wasn't enough to make me want to let go. I returned it to TSC and purchased this Fi-Shock fence charger. Let me tell you, this thing packs a punch right out of the box. I would have given a five start review, however there is not a mounting option for a T-Post. I had to put a wooden fence post in the ground to mount to. Other than that, it works great. This fencer saved me from having to run an electric line across the road to get to my new pasture.

It was easy to install (did it all by myself!).
