My mare wears this sheet when she comes in (before dusk) until she goes out (after dawn). She is well protected in her stall from biting insects. Wonderful since she is very sensitive to them. I apply Flicks insect repellant before she heads out for the day. I do not turn her out in it as the other horses as well as the trees, etc are likely to snag it. There is one thing I would like to see change: More adjustment on the belly wrap since this is a major area that needs protection. Also,how the heck do you use the long string provided at the rear?

I have two geldings that I put these on. I use them mostly at night for the no-see-em's. They play together in them, they roll in them, and yes they pull on each other's. But it helps to keep them from standing around itching all the time. I wash mine every other day and I have had to stitch up a couple holes. When we started using them it allowed the horses to come out of the barn and play in the yard during early morning and evening hours that use to be to buggie. More freedom for the horses. We also use them on hot afternoon when the horse flies come out thick. I will order two more to replace these because they are worth it to me. When they get lopsided I just adjust them back into place. Helps keep the horses from rubbing off their tails and mane too.

I bought 2 of these sheets and the only time they stayed in place is when I first put them on. They constantly slide to the left and stay there no matter how many times you pull them back.

We have a 23 year old gelding that has torn EVERY other type of "clothing" to shreds-he has "Queensland Itch"-an allergic reaction to the "no-seeums". The soft nap and smaller mesh of this blanket has made him a believer in our efforts to help him out! We spray both he and the blanket. We've found that scarlet oil works the best-on top of a light layer of crisco applied to mane, neck and tail). He walks around smelling like rancid fat-but the blanket is still intact-despite almost 24 hour a day use in a bushy pasture for the last month. Yes-it is a mess-and he gets bathed at least once a week, as well as a special set of tack for summer use-but hey-he is a happy guy! We tried it when it was on sale-and are so glad we did. I too-would like to see a better leg closure system-we had to sew a loop on one side (missing), cut the rope in half and add buckles to make it easy off/on. The belly does need more adjustment-our guy is long, but slim. However-we have tried many more expensive blankets that he has torn to pieces in 24 hours because the mesh was course and larger-letting the nats through. Any "tighter" stretch clothing lasted about an hour! It is wonderful to see him with a neck, mane and tail this summer-first time in eight years of constant experimentation with fly sprays,oral and topical garlic, oral spiruliena, and fly sheets etc. HOORAY!

My horse is allergic to fly bites and wears a fly sheet 24/7 during fly season. This is my 2nd season using this brand of fly sheet and it only has 1 rip (which I was able to sew). I am buying another sheet today to keep on hand. This sheet washes well, keeps the horse protected from the suns rays. It does have tendancy to ride to one side or the other but it is easily pulled back into position and it does not interfere with movement. Great buy for the money!
