After reading the other reviews, I wanted to shed some light on these permethrin products. The product value is not in killing insects! It's purpose is to mask the animal's odor so that insects do not recognize or 'see' your horse as a food source. You need to COVER the pet with the mist - the WHOLE pet (except for eyes). I found that insects land, yes, but they leave without biting. And it's safer than insecticides which kill insects. Think repellent (like Off) not killer (like Black Flag) It works! Spray 360 degrees around each leg and liberally (it's safe) cover the horse. In outside stalls, my horse is fly-free while the next horse over has 30 + on his back, legs and neck.

My dad talked me in to trying this because of the price. A waste of money. As soon as I used it the flies came right back on my horse! My sister in Nevada tried it also and said it was useless.

I bought this spray and was pretty happy with it. it compared to the $15 per bottle sprays everyone else was using. i like that I could add more or less. I got many refills out of the one bottle. there are horrible biting yellow flies here, and it kept them away
