I've just ordered my second of this brand fly mask for a spare. I have a 16h rescued paint here. Mostly white with blue eyes. The face flies were constantly at his eyes and the nats just had his ears filled with tiny scabs from biting. I ordered this mask here at Horse.Com last year and it works great! Fits perfect and is standing up to Chance rubbing his cheeks against trees and his companion buddy, a mini named Boldy nips and pullings on it. I This summer it has come off only once and I think that was with Boldy's help :o). I highly recommend this mask.

I like this mask. I used to buy it all of the time. It covers more of the horse's face than the other masks. Great for mosquitoes. It is blousey enough that it does not bother the eyes and the mosquitoes cannot make contact with the skin. I love the elatic on the nose - it keeps the flys from crawling up their face under the mask. Only flaws are that it comes off easily and the forelock remains under the mask - not great for horses with long forelocks. It will only last one season, but the others will, too, unless you want to endlessly repair the holes.

As many POA owners have found, finding a fly mask to fit your standard old world type POA (not the Arab type so popular today) is very hard. You tend to find Arab, Yearling,Horse, Warmblood, Foal. Very rarely do you find a POA mask. When you do (Supermask by Farnam) they dont last! I've been using the Absorbine POA Supermask for my POAs since 1994 and I go out of my way to track them down! My POAs are outdoors 90% of the time and wear their masks 23 hours a day over the summer here in Florida. Masks generally last 2 seasons for me even with washing them every day! My only issues with them at the moment is the new construction isn't as great as the old which would last 3 seasons, and the new material around the ears and jowl tends to make them sweat in Florida's high humidity.
