Tubular steel, welds and hinges/joints on bottom are of inferior quality. Product broke and presented a serious danger as welds broke leaving exposed, jagged metal pieces. A dangerous piece of equiptment whose design should be reviewed by manufacturer.

I bought 4 of these, 3 to put in a side shed area and one to put in with my weanlings. Within a week the one with the weanlings already had a broken bar. These are far too flimsy to use with any horse. Within about a month of use, all four had been torn to pieces.

Says no bolts included, except for one bolt on each side and they do not include a nut with it. The bolt is metric- so you have to take the piece with you to HDW store. I would prefer no bolts to "some" bolts. Haven't even installed yet and am already frustrated. This unit is NOT ready to install.

This item is DANGEROUS to any horse!
The construction is NOT made for equines.Hollow steel and BOLTED together. Within ONE day both racks were bent inwards, pieces of the metal tubes were sticking outwards,the bolts sticking thru the insides of the rack.The "junk" metal could have impaled a horse through the chest,neck and or face and could have torn out a eye!
You should be ashamed to even advertise this item for horses!

i put this hayrack UP on the wall of my barn & have since watched it decintgrate. it was placed high enough for them not to cause it harm but all of the welds on the bottom have just come apart over two months causing this to now be a danger & it had to be removed.

In response to the previous customer review, I must say I have had no issues with these hay racks, having 4 of them mounted as instructed in the handy video I found on this website! Granted they are not made of nondestructive materials, but my geldings have eaten out of them for several months and they are holding up fine.

Like the other reviewer, I am very dissappointed with the quality of these hay racks. The hinged bars bend very easily and my 2 year old filly broke every bar in one night scratching her butt on it! It's now in the trash. This also brings up safety issues. Don't waste your money with this one!

We bought 2 of these for our horses, and these were not strong enough. Once the horses started to rub their butts on them, the racks crumbled and had to be removed. They went to the trash and now we are researching for something that will hold up.

You do have to mount them up high your horse shouldn't be rubbing it's butt on them!
