I thought this looked like a good idea with the rubber handle. I tried to use it on four different horses and it just don't rasp the hoof. If your very strong you can make it work the same with any dull knife.

This is a good idea- a short rasp with built in rubber grip handle. I've used the old fashioned wooden handled kind for years, so I was tempted to try this new design- esp. being it's German made. What I found is it's a terrible quality rasp and doesn't do the job! I could never use mine - I tried a number times, always hopeful- but it just doesn't rasp! I finally tossed it in a load of tack I took to the local auction. Was glad to see it gone from my tool bucket. But I miss my $15. Don't buy!
