I have 2 Arabians and this is the second season for my use. No reactions or problems, the horses eat it and the flies are minimal, especially around the manure pile. I conjunction with topical products, you can't beat it!

I used this product for almost 2 years and ran out a couple months ago. I decided to try without and have noticed a huge increase in the fly population. The biggest thing I just came across was that I dispose of the manure into large plastic garbage cans and I opened the lid yesterday and there were thousands of developing fly larvae squiggling around all over the container. This has NEVER happened in the past so I have to figure that the Solitude had been doing an awesome job up until the time I ran out!

Excellent product -- have 27 horses and it is so simple to add to the feed. I use year round now to prevent even those flies that want to overwinter from getting a head start on me during warmer time of winter. Have used for 2 years and wont use anything other feed thru cause Solitude is so much safer and effective than the other feed thru products for all my horses. Solitude doesn't kill the beneficial insects and invertebrates like other fly products.

The flies are absolutely horrible in my area resulting in some huge vet bills last summer treating summer sores. I've used predators for the last two years but this year I added Solitude to my "fight." I started in Feb as we have a long fly season and I've had very few flies this year. Also, I've not had to use fly spray this year on my horses. I'm also still using predators but the Solitude has really made the difference. Will continue this "forever." Worth it even though it is a bit pricey. Another plus, my horses eat it by itself and wait for me to give it to them.

The rebate form said the original UPC had to be included. The UPC was printed at the bottom of a very thin label on the tub. The only way to remove it in one piece would be to cut it out of the tub, which has a three month supply of product. I wrote the bar code number on the rebate form and explained the problem. Today I received a postcard saying the rebate was denied because the original UPC was not included. Very disappointing!

I am so disappointed in this product, esp. in light of all the great reviews I have read and the rec. from my vet. I have used the product in two different situations for four months. One a backyard paddock w/two stalls & two horses that is meticulously maintained, and the next a show barn (stalls cleaned twice daily) where 16 (neighbors) were put on Solitude, also 4 months ago. All I have to do is show you the fly traps to know this has done nothing to curb the flies by any measure. Alas, the claims are just too good to be true.

I absolutely hate flies. I have tried sprays, traps, ointments, masks, fly predators, and Equitrol. Solitude works the best by far. With Equitrol, you can smell the pesticide in the manure, and that seems unsafe. Solitude works differently, not killing the flies but preventing them from developing into adulthood, and it is much safer. Sometimes I have to look around for 10 seconds to find a fly, and when I find a second one, I think it might be the first fly coming around again. I hand feed it individually to my horses in pasture every day. It takes me 15 minutes to do 22 horses, and I am fly free. Heaven!

You can't compare this product to Fly Preditors as its 100 times better. I know as I've used Fly Preditors for 5 yrs. There are very few to no flies on my property now and my old horses are very calm out in pasture. I have a Bite Free fly sticky in my barn and that's it. No more flies in there. The difference between the amount of flies that I had last year to what I have now using Solitude is amazing!! I also use PDZ stall freshener which is good too. That's all that I've changed since last year. Fly Preditors have to be ordered when the weather is warm enough for them to live; however, Solitude can be given one month BEFORE the fly season starts and you nip the flies just as they start to come out because your manure has been treated. Get it, you will like it.
