It takes days..maybe even a week for this product to start working, but then it fills up fast with flies. The smell, however, is terrible, so this is not something you want in an area you are going to be spending any time.

I bought this product last year, as a matter of fact I bought about 6 of them. They worked very well all you have to do is make sure you have water in them. After you catch so many flies that smell attracts more. Just make sure they are in the sun!

These traps are the best and the price is right I am buying 5 more just to make sure I have on hand. If you use these according to directions they work fantastic, duh where are flys close to the ground, super product don't listen to the negatives.

The first two days, I caught two flies in the two traps I bought. The next day, there was a whole layer of flies. I hung one up in the stall, and it seems to be catching the most flies. Even though not all of the flies go in it, they flock around it on the twine and wood, so it at least keeps them away. I wouldn't recommend using just this product to keep flies away, but I also use fly spray and the sticky fly tape in addition to the traps. My horse is allergic to flies, so finding good quality products is important to me.

I caught not one single fly in
any of the four traps I purchased.Even when the horses were three feet from it and covered with the pests, none of them bothered to check in. This one is a bomb with no bang!

My experience since we have been using these fly traps for three years is that they work well. We have one by the barn and two on the deck camouflaged and they keep flies out of the house. They fill up and are useful, as useful as any fly trap. I don't know why the other person had such a bad experience. We do change them frequenlty as they do fill up quickly sometimes.
