Got this on sale & was happy to get both the headstall & reins for this price. Leather is a little stiff, but hardware seems sturdy. Fits both my large pony & my horse so I'm orering another.

I have had this bridle for 3 years and it has held up well. I have used it on two different horses, a 15.1 paint & a 15.3 Tennessee Walker, and it fits the Walker better. I had to poke some extra holes in the throat latch to make it large enough, but it seems to be very comfortable for them. I have the cheek pieces on the shortest setting to keep my hackamore up high enough and I never had a problem when I used a bit. I would buy this again.

You get what you pay for... Not the best quality in the world, but it will definitely hold up. Stiff with some blemishes. Nothing too noticeable. A good oiling will help. I'm glad I read the reviews before I bought. I was looking to buy a very small headstall for a decent price and I almost didn't buy this one thinking it would be too big. It'll fit a pony or very young horse easily. Definitely won't fit any of my horses! I noticed the price went up - I would not be willing to buy for the current $35 price. I'd go on to another SLT product for better quality. (And one that is actually horse size.)

I have a arabian with a cob size head, I bought this "horse" size bridle thinking I would have plently of room, but in fact it is way to small for her, the side pieces are not even long enough to put a bit in her mouth at the largest setting. I emailed horse.com and they said it is not their fault and they will not cover return shipping, so now after all is said and done I will not have a new bridle and I will have almost $20 invested in shipping.

I have owned my own horse for a little over three years but have always used others hand me down tack. This bridle is the first I have purchased on my own for my 7yo Haflinger gelding.
The bridle arrived stiff but oiling it helped a lot! It's a good fit and though I haven't had it long seems to be dependable. Like the previous reviewer, I plan to poke a few extra holes in it for a little more cheek room.
Just a note. I ordered the Brown color and it is definitely a cherry/mahogany brown. That works great for me (matches my saddle better) but if you're looking for true brown this bridle isn't it.
Overall, a great bridle and one I would recommend.

This bridle arrived super stiff--it's made of the cheaper India leather. I spent a couple of nights in front of the TV oiling it, and flexing it back and forth. I also punched some new holes between the holes on the cheek-pieces, to have a better fit for all the different horses I work with. With use, it's become a surprisingly fantastic bridle. I find myself reaching for it instead of my more expensive bridles whenever I have a difficult job ahead. Quite frankly, I would love to have a bunch of these in better quality leather!
