Just in case I want to turn my horse out in a halter, this is relatively safe. If he gets caught up, I know the halter will give first, or if I am training on the lead rope and he happens to stand on the rope and panic, again I trust that nothing really bad will happen.

The halters stay on the horses in my horse's herd to make it easier for the worker to bring them in (I'm not a fan of this but have to go by the rules). So I need a breakaway, several so when one gets wet I have another. These were the best price and I needed several.

I put them on my horses during tornado season.

will this halter work on an arabian? Every halter I have bought for him he can get off.
Debra S on Oct 5, 2014
Best Answer: My horse is a quarterhorse, but she is ridiculously stubborn. She has broken hers twice. If your arabian really wants the halter off, he can break this one, which is kind of the point, although it is not necessarily easy to do. The leather piece comes with some holes, but more can be punched to fit your particular horse better, which could allow you to tighten it a bit more around the neck/jaw, while leaving the front loose. Again, it really depends how badly he wants to get it off... The leather is the only really adjustable part, although there is some adjustment. It is a bit big on my quarterhorse, but the fit on an arabian is likely to be different.
