It can take a little time to break in, but was not nearly as stiff as I expected from the reviews. This is a good halter for horses that need a slightly more assertive halter as it is stiffer, but thin and with big knots on pressure areas. I would not recommend this for the very sensitive or light-faced horse, but for the pushy or dull ones, it does the trick.

This is a great rope halter but it is so stiff. It took me hours just to break it in before putting it on my horse because i didnt want my horse to get halter rubs from this halter. I would buy a better quality rope halter next time.

I bought this halter for my 3 year old filly and we both love it. I will have to admit that it was stiff and needed to be used a few times to shape and fit right on her head. I love the fact that the rope is strong and durable. And I loved the price! You can hardly find anything for your horse for $3.99 nowadays! I would definitely purchase this halter again in the future for my other horses.

This halter is my favorite halter ever. It is durable, fits any horse, and helps keep control of your horse because all the knots are where their soft spots are. I have used it on horses from 13h ponies to 16h saddlebreds. Some with thick heads and some with tiny heads! You can even use it under a bridle! I STRONGLY recommend this product!

The best rope halter I've ever owned. And I'm coming back to buy more! It's durable, it's soft & bendable, doesn't come to you stiff but as if it's already broken in. I love them! The knots are in all the right places and the size is easily adjustable. I love them!

After using rope halters for many years, we purchased these for our farms horses. We purchased 12-15 halters of which only 1 or 2 survived after a week. The underneath part where you would attach a lead rope is very loose and makes the nose part too big which eventually leads to it being stuck in the horses mouth or hanging off so much it's dangerous. After tightening them all multiple times, we decided just not to use them. This was a huge diappointed. Never had this problem with rope halters before.

For the price it is a great product...Does require some adjusting to fit the horse so a knowledge of rope halters and knots is helpful...Overall for the incrediablly cheap price it is well worth it..I use them as spares to have around....

Great material and great color, though I'm having the same issue that CBrown did. The knots are in the correct places on the one I received, but there's no place to clip or tie my lead! That knot is completely tangled and I'm trying to figure out how to fix it myself but I might have to return it. Grr. :/

You will not have any pulling or tugging using this halter. They really work. Have found them in the dirt, washed them and used them again.

This is a nice looking halter, but did not fit my horse who has an average sized head. I know they are adjustable and that would have worked if it was too big, but it was too small. Can't adjust it if there isn't enough rope in the halter to work with. An awesome buy if you have a pony.

I was unable to use this halter. It came to me in a complete knot, with no place for the lead rope to clip and the knots were in the wrong places. It's a nice material and a cute color. Sure wish I could put it on my horse ...

I have several of these halters. They fit the 13hh POA, 14.2hh arab (tiny head!), average QHs, and my 16.2hh TB. How? Simple. Know how to adjust the halter. Put it on your horse and decide whether you want to lengthen or shorten the cheeks, noseband, under the throat, etc. Just slide the rope part through each knot, and once everything is the right length, you pull the knots from each side to tighten. (there are youtube videos demonstrating this). I've been using the same ones for years. Love them!

I purchased four of thses halters and have had them for about a month now. I love them and like the fact that they apply the needed pressure only when needed. This is a good everyday halter for your horse and it doesn't rub like nylon halters.

We ordered 10 of these halters, one for each of our horses. We thought it was a great value. The halters are made of high quality rope, but they are HUGE. The catalog descibes them as fitting an 800-1200 pound horse. All of our quarter horses fit into this catagory, but when we tried one on one of our largest horses the halter was not able to be tied tight enough to get a correct fit.

I have this halter on my mustang who pulls when she's frightened. It works just as well as a no-pull halter. The knots apply the poll pressure needed to help her stop pulling back! I have had this halter on 2 horses over 7 years and it is a little dirty(because i have never washed it) but I have kept this halter on the horses day and night and there are no signs of wear.
