On this particular bit, the headstall attaches to the first set of round rings, as does the curb chain and the reins attach to the last set of round rings. What attaches or what purpose does the second set of rings perform~?

Best Answer: Hi Robert I haven't tried it yet, but I believe the middle ring is also for reins and used like an ordinary snaffle bit. The bottom ring has the leverage when used with reins. It's to help give me some control for a horse that may want to bolt I'm hoping or can go thru the bit. I could use 2 sets of reins if needed. I hope this helps my intent of use. If u have anything to add please do
