Great as a gate latch, too!, 11/16/2012

These have been safe and easy to use hangers for my buckets in the barn. I also use them as gate latches -- simply hook a chain underneath the ring. This is a simply way to open/close the gate one handed.

Mixed batch, 11/11/2012

I ordered 8 of these in March 2012. We received 2 different versions. 5 were very heavy and the center hook left enough space for a heavy bucket handle. The remaining 5 were less well made and the center hood stuck up inside the ring and my water buckets would not fit over the hook. We prefer the heavier ones, but the part number was the same. I have ordered 6 more, but don't know specifically which ones we will get.

I bought 3 and they are all the same. The ring at the top is visibly crooked. The hook extends so far up it almost goes into the ring, so it is very difficult to get the bucket handle over it. When it is mounted to the wall, I have to tip my flat-back buckets about 45 degrees to get the handle at the correct angle to slide over the hood, so if the bucket has water in it half of it is dumped out. Also the screws that come with it are poor quality and strip easily.

This hook breaks right at the crease. Didn't last six months. I bought 6 or 8 and several have broken so it's not just one that was defective.

Easy to use..., 8/3/2010

These are so much easier than the plastic bucket hooks, no fiddling with winter gloves. I take them to shows, hang grain & water buckets, could even be used for hay net if mounted high enough. A really playfull horse might be able to get their bucket off this but works great for normal horses...
