Offer your horse the ultimate in fly protection and a safe alternative to toxic and ineffective fly sprays. Rated #1 for comfort, design and fit by equine clinicians and publications, the Cashel® Crusader™ Fly Mask employs a patented three-hole cap design that ensures comfort, eliminates forelock damage and remains stationary whether your horse is in the stall or the pasture. The panels are constructed of soft-coated nylon micromesh that hovers above the skin’s surface, protecting the soft tissues of the eyes and forehead from flying insects and blocking 70% of the sun’s damaging UV rays. Edges and seams are bound with low-nap plush fabric that won’t attach to irritating burrs or bristles.

These are my favorite fly masks, they fit my horses better than any others and hold up pretty well. And, they come in mini size too so my little horses are covered as well.

How is your horses visibility?
A shopper on Jun 22, 2015
Best Answer: My horse does not seem to have any problem with seeing out of this. Sometimes the mesh will gump up with sand or aglime so I always shake it good before putting it on but she waits and wants it on. I have used other types and brands and always go back to this one. I do have one with the ears for my regular horse and the ones without the ears for our mini's. They don't have any vision probs with them either.

Can this attach to the velcro strap on the top of the neck part of my fly sheet?
Kathleen B on May 26, 2014
Best Answer: I bought the Cashel neck protector and fly mask. What I found is that there is not a velcro attachment to connect the two together. only a set of shoe string like ties, that you can tie on to the top of the fly mask. now, I do not have the Cashel fly sheet, but I do have a top named brand, the neck protector and sheet I am able to connect by 3 velcro straps, even though they are not the same brand. Ultimately- Its doing its job, so I am happy with the item.

Are these masks UV rated?
Maureen H on Jan 2, 2015
Best Answer: No if you want a truly UV rated mask you need to go to Guardian Mask. My gelding has Equine recurrent Uveitis (ERU), also known as moon blindness so he requires a UV rated mask to prevent flare ups etc. Those are great masks. If you are looking for a simple fly mask I have this one for my rescue and it's great! I put it on my gelding with ERU at night and he does well.
