Rated 5 out of 5 by Jodienne Remillard Amazing Boot !!!
I was out on a trail ride in the mountains and it was rocky, a friend of mine loaned me a pair of her Cavello boots for my mare, the combination of simplicity, comfort, and durability these boots provided my mare on our ride was unbeatable. I decided right then, these were the boots I just had to purchase for myself. I've used Easy boots, and others in the past, and these far surpassed any other boot on the market today!!! A must have for any active horseman!

I love these boots. My mare has really bad feet. They are brittle and flat. We are planning on putting shoes on her whenever her feet grow out- if they do. But because we still want to ride her, we bought these boots. They rarely move and keep her feet well protected. They also serve as an excellent "spare tire" for our other horses in case one of them were to loose a shoe out on a trail. I am very please with the quality as well. They have stayed perfectly together. They are also relativly easy to clean. Overall, I am extremely please with this product. The only drawback that I found with this item was that it rubbed slightly on her corronet band after a few hours. It would be best used with the sock that they sell separatly.

I bought both the sport and the simple boot for my horse. For sizing I took advantage of the free sizing chart pdf that horse.com provided and was thrilled that the boots fit perfectly. My mare is fine boned so we included pastern wraps with our order. They stayed on through some of the hardest trail rides my friend and I could think of including galloping and hill climbing. The cavallo boots out performed my friends Ez boot epics so well that she is now ordering 2 pairs for her horse as we use them front and back. What really impressed my friend and i is that the Simple Boots stay on so well even though my mare tends to overreach with her hind feet and sometimes steps on the back of the boot.

My husband and I have 4 pairs between us, We usually use fronts only but on gravel roads use front and back. We love them ride between 15-25 miles per week and are on the second season. Snow, mud, sand, water they stay in place and work well. Rubs can and do occur on some horses and we use the gaiters to prevent the rubs.

Decided to give them a try in place of shoes. Stayed on well but caused severe rubbing on the heel. Tried the pastern wraps. The largest was too small for a large boned horse. Tried vaseline on the cornary band and heels. That worked better. Better off with shoes. Wasted my money.

I have a Paint mare that I do a lot of trail riding with. We live in a fairly muddy area so her hooves are often a little soft, and most of our trails include at least a short walk on gravel. She was always really ouchy on the gravel and I didn't want to put shoes on her for just these short walks over the rocks. Now she moves out confidently and is much more surefooted. Super easy to get on and off. I've ridden her walk/jog/lope AND gallop no problems!

I've used Cavallo Simple Boots for over 3 years now. These boots never come off thru deep sand, water or mud. The outer velcro straps will come undone, but the main velcro holds everything together. Minor rubbing is eliminated with gaiters or vet wrap.

I love how easy they are to put on and take off. I feel these boots can provide the protection when needed between trims. Many of the others do not allow much margin from the "fresh trim" state. We have 4 horses and they work very well for two, but did not work for the other two. You should break them in, be sure to have a proper, more barefoot style trim. Horses know when they have them on and just go through any rocky areas. We never lost one through mud, water, rock and sand. I never find they've accumulated anything inside really. They are a clean up project when it's been muddy. Bring along some oil or something to soften them after a wet day. Clean them and make sure the cuff is clean and soft. My horse was rubbed when I allowed sweaty sand to dry on the cuff. The slide on
keepers for the velcro straps are not that user friendly.
