Rated 4 out of 5 by Looks good If I can ever get the correct size, I think these will be just fine. I have had to return the size 4's and get a 2. Returning them has been difficult because of having to wait for them to recieve the old ones, then they have to refund the $ on my CC. The sizes run large and the size chart said to get a size 4...they were way too big. Farrier says get a 2. Seems like a high quality product. December 30, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awsome I bought both the sport and the simple boot for my horse. For sizing I took advantage of the free sizing chart pdf that provided and was thrilled that the boots fit perfectly. My mare is fine boned so we included pastern wraps with our order. They stayed on through some of the hardest trail rides my friend and I could think of including galloping and hill climbing. The cavallo boots out performed my friends Ez boot epics so well that she is now ordering 2 pairs for her horse as we use them front and back September 4, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Easy to use Product I purchased a pair of these boots for my Mustang a little over a year ago. It took her a few minutes to get used to them, then we were off. The only thing is, she has recently worn out the left "Pony Nike." I wish that there was a way to just purchase one if needed and not a pair at a time. Thanks Much JoAnnne August 15, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love these boots! I would not recommend these boots for someone who was to canter or gallop a lot, especially up hill, for it wears out the boot 90% faster than with calmer riding. I've been using mine on and off for half a year now, and they are still in great shape! I did one ride in them where we ran a lot and could tell there was a decent amount of wear on the bottom from one ride. For arena riding their is hardly any wear along with just walk trot from trail. The gel pads wore out very fast, but made a difference in how high my horse was willing to pick up his feet(actually I found out he has arthritis near his hooves recently, and that's why it made such a difference on him). once on trail my horse started limping, a rock had gotten in the boot, just as if a a rock were to get into our shoes, but it only happened once. I bought the pastern wraps, used them 3 times. I had a little trouble with them staying in place(might of been my own error), but luckily my horse doesn't get any rubs from the boot, so I don't need them anyway (It looks like they may have changed them a little, so it stays in place better). wash boots after every ride and they will stay looking like new. mud comes off really easy. make sure to wash sand/mud out from inside of boot as well or else it hardens in there. hope this helps! Rated 1 out of 5 by Way too small! I have ordered(and returned)2 pairs of theses boots for trail riding now because they are too small. My (recently trimmed)horses usually wear a size 0 shoe and size 1, so that's what I ordered. So far the 1 doesn't even fit my horse that wears a 0. I have spent $30 on return shipping so far and still don't have boots that fit! Ordering 2 sizes up should be noted in the description and seems pretty ridiculous. I only keep trying because I think the buckle is a vast improvement over the velcro of the other style. January 29, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Update on Simple Boots I was very impressed with the boots but didn't put enough stars on my review 4/4/11. Product deserves all 5 stars!!! October 27, 2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by Cavallo Sports boot If you have a horse with small feet, I would not suggest you purchase these. I took on one ride an the boots were thrashed. The pad inserts, lasted just that one ride. The boots twisted and are hardly worth the mess of dealing with them. October 2, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by AWESOME! i originally ordered these boots for my moms gelding who gets sore on any kind of ground that isnt grass, the first pair i ordered didnt fit him so i tried them on my mare and they are GREAT! the first time i used them i rode for over 2 hours they didnt seem to bother or rub her in any way. it makes me feel really good about ordering a 2nd pair for the gelding who actually needs them and you can't beat the price! iv been paying $80 every 5 weeks for 2 front shoes for my mare, $40 for a trim (the geldings feet wont hold shoes..) so the $100 for the boots is a no-brainer. i just got them so not sure how long they will last, the materials seem very good and look like they will hold up but no matter what i am happy with the purchase and will definately be replacing them when needed with the exact same product :) September 16, 2011

I have been using these boots for several years now on all of my horses. They work great, stay in place and truly do protect the hoof better than any boot I've ever had. They wear well and I have had no problems at all with them. They stay on my girls in all sorts of situations ~ galloping, in mud, in the creek, in snow ~ and support tender-footed horses on every terrain. Highly recommended!

My horse is right on the line between a 4 and a 5---exactly in the middle. Should I go with a 4 or 5?
A shopper on Nov 27, 2014
Best Answer: It completely depends on how fresh the trim is on your horse. You may wish to go up to a 5 just in case there is growth.

How do I measure for size on the hoof boots?
A shopper on Mar 31, 2015
Best Answer: Use the tool that Cavallo furnishes, you can print it and measure your horse as per the instructions, within a week after trim.. Purchase two pair. One pair that seem too small and the second one size up. The too small pair will fit after trims, the second will continue to fit with less filing until the next trim (approx 8 wks). I purchased a pair 'sized' right (according to the sizing tool) for a mare, but they were too large, so I bought a smaller pair for her. fortunately the larger pair that were supposed to fit her, fit another horse. I get frustrated trying to size them and would love to have all the sizes on the shelf. Even another (mature) horse who's boots fit a year ago doesn't fit in hers now right after a trim. They change just like we do. My only complaint is the snap comes un-done, or is loose when the velcro is set right.
