What is the difference between the regular tree and the wide tree?
A shopper on Dec 16, 2014
Best Answer: A regular saddle is an 'average' width. This means it might fit about 1/3-1/2 of your typical horses that aren't too narrow or too wide. A wide tree is just that, built wider across. The withers area is the most common place that is considered, but the rest of the horse's back has a shape also. You could possibly have a horse with wider, flatter withers and a narrower back/ribcage, or vice versa, and fitting a saddle would be more challenging for that horse.
