What width is the gullet? I'm trying to fit a Haflinger who requires the gullet be exactly 7" at the shoulder.
A shopper on May 21, 2015
Best Answer: If your Haflinger has a traditional confirmation, this saddle probably won't fit. Not only do you need a wide gullet, you also need a lot more spread. Now, if your Haflinger has some wither and gets big slowly, a wide tree should fit well. The El Campo only comes in a Gaited Tree which is narrow. The 6915 El Dorado is available in a wide tree. Same style of saddle but different tree.

I am dawn to this saddle due to its weight as well as being baited. At another site I read that this saddle may have rock. What would be the reason for this result?
A shopper on Oct 3, 2015
Best Answer: Most; if not all, saddles have rock...some more than others. Rock is the natural bend in the saddle bar so it will fit the dip/contour of the horses back. When there is not rock, that saddle is typically for a mule.

i have spotted saddle horses and MO fox trotters. would this EL Campo gaited saddle be a good fit for these breeds? thanks.
LISA S on Oct 14, 2014
Best Answer: There are several breeds of horses that would benefit from the design of the gaited saddle. These horses need the additional flexibility and “A” shape of the saddle in order to enhance and not hinder their natural ambling gaits. A gaited saddle will allow more range of motion to ensure that your horse can move as smoothly as his gait for specific breeds such as saddle horses and MO fox trotters.
