This is a nice, sturdy blanket that seems to stand up to a lot of abuse. I bought one of these last year for a Jack Russell/Beagle mix who does not take care of his things. I had previous tried the nice, waterproof coat from the pet store that belonged to my previous dog. He had that coat off and destroyed within ten minutes! I have a Defender blanket for an older horse and have been so pleased with it, I'd hoped the dog version would be of similar quality. We're gearing up for a second winter with it! This blanket fits well and seems to be impossible for even my destructo-mutt to get off. He tends to get covered in mud, but the blanket so far has washed well in the washing machine and comes out looking good as new (I hang to dry). I'm so pleased with this blanket that I'm purchasing another for the my newly-adopted pug/beagle mix.
