Not so great., 8/23/2012

Undunrein from West Olive, MI

I bought these, and they lasted about 48 hours. They slouch, get stepped on, and torn easily. If you do put them on tight enough, they rub really bad.

Not so great, 8/8/2012

I love jumping <3 from San Diego Ca

This product rubbed my horses legs in a cupple places and now has bald spots on his legs. They also fall really easily, and my horse has big legs he is a 16.2 quarter horse draft mix and they would still fall off, they also stain your horses legs.

Good idea, if only they stay up...., 6/26/2012

DeeTee from Hazleton, Pa.

They would work well, but they 'slouch' down to the ground, and get under my horse's heels. I've tried every way (short of cutting off his circulation in his legs !) to get them to stay up when he walks around with them. The design could use vertical support "ribs" woven/sewn into the fabric to keep them up where they belong to actually protect my horse from flies biting his legs .....(which is the purpose for putting them on in the first place, right?). "Get these at the "garage sale" and sew in your own support ribs !" :-(

Good for hot & dry conditions, 6/22/2012

Starry from Minneapolis, MN

I have 2 pairs of these boots that have lasted for a couple seasons. I have found that they do NOT work in muddy conditions, so I use other fly boots in the spring and when it's been rainy. However, once my horse's paddock is dry, these are great because they're so light weight. She is a Thoroughbred with long skinny legs and lots of skin issues on her legs (fungus, rain rot, etc). Plus, she is driven crazy by flies. These boots are great because they provide plenty of fly protection and yet, best of all, let her skin breathe. All the heavier boots, like the Kensington type material, make the skin conditions worse because no sunlight reaches her skin and I think her legs are sweaty in there, plus they rub. Granted, my horse is older and quiet and in a paddock, not an open pasture, so there isn't a huge amount of wear and tear on any of her clothing. But, I find that all fly boots tend to fall apart pretty quickly. Yes, I've resewed some velcro strips after a year or two of use, but at least that's an option with these because of the light weight material.

Satisfied, 5/11/2012

Penny from VA

These wraps are great if your horse is not in tall grass and rotate them on and off. Nice and light. The quality is not great but they work for what I got them for. I do not recommend for horses who are very active in the field, they will come off. Overall, I would buy these again.

You Get What You Pay For!, 8/3/2011

Josh/LaciesMom from Murrieta, CA

I bought these fly boots for my horse who doesnt have fly allergies and never bothers his clothes and he ripped them in half within 2 minutes of me putting them on. It is a great price but the quality/strength definately shows in the price. Would have been better off taking the $17 dollars and putting it towards a better quality pair.

Very Dissapointed, 7/21/2011

Defender Leg Wraps from Wayne, NE

The price was reasonable, but the product did not hold up. upon placing them on my horses legs, the mesh was not sturdy enough to hold them in position, they would slouch down and gather around his feet, then causing him to step on them and tearing them. they only held up for one use...a complete waste of time and money.

A Good Buy, 7/18/2011

goodhorsekeeping from Kerhonkson, NY

I just purchased the Defender Fly Legwraps for my horse and I have to say that these are a must have for any horse owner. The Velcro closures are very secure in keeping them in place. You may see a little slouchyness but all you need to do is ajust the velcro. To make them more effective, just spray them with fly spray. My horse doesn't injure himself with his legs to keep the flys off him. If your horse is not familiar with the wraps, it may take a day for him to ajust. My guy did!

Total Waste of Money, 7/13/2011

Aroper from Livermore, Ca.

These leg wraps are a TOTAL WASTE of MONEY. The velcro ripped off two of them after only one day. Extremely poor quality and they do not stay up on the legs. I bought 3 sets for my 3 horses and all were ripped within a week. PLEASE save your money and pass on this product.
