I very seldom used this cantle bag and used it less than a half doazen times before it failed, less than six months after purchase, when my horse decided she was going to have a good shake, it busted/tore along the area the straps are sewn to the bag. It was a very awkward attachment to my Aussie saddle, the bag would sag and slide no matter how I attached it to my original saddle and the water bottles would hang sideways or almost upside down, only sitting right when I bought a new Aussie that had the rear cinch saddle rings and attached the straps snugly to those, but that seems to be the reason it failed. The zipper was very difficult to open and did not operate smoothly. It's now in the trash.

I bought 2 of these a year ago to put on my easy entry carts to carry a few things while driving. It can hold 2 bottles of water, a lead line, gloves, sunblock, chap stick, a light weight jacket and a small first aid kit in a small compact space. And when it gets dirty or dusty you just hose it off and hang in the sun to dry. So great that I am ordering 2 more for me and 2 for a friend. These are well made and well worth the money!

I got this cantle bag in the mail Friday, just in time for a four hour ride on Saturday. I was able to fit all my gear into it, but saw no rigging to attach it to the saddle. The straps on the back appear to be intended to hold on a coat or something, but there is nothing that will reach any part of the saddle to hold it on. I tied it on with my saddle strings, periodically pausing to adjust and retie it. Partway through the ride I found that the water bottles were flipping out of their holders when I loped my horse, held on only by a loop of elastic (not the secure velcro straps pictured). I found this to be far inferior to cantle bags I have used in the past, primarily because of how difficult it was to secure to my saddle.

This well made bag is just perfect to hook to my pony cart while doing trail driving. Can hook into front rail by the single tree
or behind the seat and it is big enough to stash a wind breaker or even a hooded sweatshirt.
