Thermostatically controlled for efficiency to only operate when necessary, turning on and shuting off automatically. Unit is completely hidden from the animal, and suspended in the tank so it cannot come in contact with the bottom or side.  Easy to install and requires no special tools.  Just remove the drain plug to create the opening when the unit fits in. Fits any Behlan®, Freeland®, Hastings®, Rubbermaid®, or Applegate® tank.

good product, 1/5/2012

Liked this heater better when the neck was bigger diameter. That keeps heater from moving and leaking. It also allows it to use larger and heavier washer and lock nut from trough plug. They seem to last. Had to buy 2new heaters this year after 5 or 6 years.we'll see what quality the new ones are?
