Can this be used safely with a extension cord?
tewiba on Jan 2, 2016
Best Answer: The information states not to use an extension cord but I don't have power by my water tanks and am forced to use an extension cord. I use a outdoor compatible cord, wrap the connectors for weather proofing and rig the cord so animals can't get caught up or bite and chew on it. It has served me well. I wish the manufacturers would make longer cords to eliminate the extensions.

Is it safe to use this in a metal tank?
Kristi S on Nov 8, 2015
Best Answer: Yes. I use mine in enamel metal bathtubs with a protective cover board. The guard around the element keeps that element off of the metal so it doesn't heat the metal up. Proper electrical precautions MUST be followed to keep from potential grounding out on the metal. If this is done and checked on a regular basis, you should be just fine.
