I've used this or Simplifly for the past 6 yrs. Works better than Fly Predators. I feed 1/2 scoop am and pm, so all manure is treated. This is more successful than just 1 scoop daily, so the other 12 hrs worth of manure would not be treated and flies could breed and mature in it. My vet + farrier agree this is working for fly population control.

Is there a risk to dogs who eat the horse manure from horses eating Equitrol? Any special risks for Dalmatians?
Mary S on Mar 31, 2015
Best Answer: My own dog, a corgi, did not get sick but he was allergic and was having skin rashes. I can't say for sure about Dalmatians but if you're at all concerned look into more natural alternatives for feed through fly control. My previous employer made me buy it for their horses, so honestly, while it didn't harm anyone I still am not wild about the chemical aspect of it. I can't be certain either how effective it is. Do check with your dog's vet.

Dogs?
A shopper on Mar 31, 2015
Best Answer: I have fed Equitrol during fly season ever since it first came out. During that time, I have had aussies, corgis, doxys, jack russells, bouvies, and "mutts." All have loved meadow muffins and have not had any ill effects from eating them except for green teeth! I would check with my canine vet to be sure. Margaret

Is this product safe for nursing foals?

Is it safe to mix in with feed for foals?
Sherry E on Jun 23, 2014
Best Answer: There are several weight lines on the measure cup You would have to feed each foal separately, as it goes by weight. It is very palatable, and even my finicky eater loves it. Since it only affects fly eggs, with a growth inhibitor, and it is safe at all stages of pregnancy ( via label)
This is my first time using this product, and I have noticed such a dramatic decrease in flies. The only thing that I wish, is that I wish it would keep the may flies and horseflies away too.
I am very pleased with this product! :)
