It wasn't what I expected; it is awesome! It really helped my SUPER high strung, forward, spooky, reining/gaming paint mare. (when we moved she was too high strung and took up bucking... this helped us work through the problem and now we ride with no problems at all!) She LOVES the taste! It took some adjusting the amount of scoops to get the power to have any effect on her though. (on my Paint mare she needed about twice the dosing, while my Arabian needed less than half) I used it two different ways by either feeding it in her grain at night or feeding 2-3 hours before riding. 1) feeding a few hours before riding. She acted like a different horse! super friendly and calm, no sppoking! she was very agreeable and polite, I think that anyone could have ridden her like that! the best was that she acted so calm, but she was completely with it (NOT looking or feeling drugged at all) and still able to run patterns and routines! 2) feeding in grain at night. Since it was about 20 hours after she ate it that we would ride she didn't act much calmer, BUT she was amazingly willing to do what you asked of her!!

Have a lovely TB but turned into love struck mare with a new gelding nearby. Pacing, calling, peeing, winking and not using brain. This worked like a light switch and she went back to her herd in pasture and acted normal again.This also helped big time when July 4th was like a war zone over my stable. Also made huge difference in moving 9 horses that have not been off a clients property or worked with trailering in 4 years. Day one was practice and horses elevated. Did a dose and waited 2 hrs..tried again...easy cheesy except for a Cracker breed gelding but he ended up loading fine as a single transfer. We were on a tight schedule where training and time was not in our favor.

I give this to my high strung Percheron, she loves the taste, and it works great, she doesn't pace the fence anymore, and isn't trying to rush around when leading or riding.

I didn't think this would do anything for my mare that plenty of hay and pasture time wouldn't, but it has. My horse is 13 year old standard bred mare who has always been a little high strung and is very sensitive to new or frustrating situations. She's also been on hay that isn't the best quality, which led me to believe that it could be a nutritional deficiency. After a few days on this she's standing quietly in the barn and is concentrating better under saddle than any horse after a winter off should at the beginning of spring. It literally felt like she hadn't lost anything over the winter. That said, she is not dopey! I stopped Quietex for few weeks, thinking that with with the warmer drier weather, additional turnout would have the same effect, but she was back to pacing the stall (when she had to be in), chewing the wood, and general oversensitivity to situations - being the first/last turned out, for example. The only thing I would change about this product is that I'd like to see it in an alfalfa pellet. My horse is a fairly picky eater and unless I use sweet feed that I can mix it with, she won't touch a powder. Overall, I'd give Quietex a thumbs up - at least in my horse's situation.
