Rated 5 out of 5 by This stuff works! I tried this product for the first time last month, and have noticed a reduction in visible welts on my three quarter horses who are turned out all summer 24/7. They seem to be less bothered by the flies, mosquitoes, and there have been no ticks on them at all! I won't be without it again! July 23, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome for Tick Extermination I used a tube of this on each of my horses. I did notice prior to application a pus filled globe underneath my horse's mane - I applied the Freedom 45 to my horse, walked away to get a wipe to pop and remove the pus globe, and upon my return, it had popped and the tick causing the issue was flattened and dead (head and all). This to me is enough to keep using the product year to year. July 12, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Really good Started using this in the spring and it made a big difference. You need to keep up with it but it sure helped with the deer flies. I know that it had been too long on our last ride because they were bad. Ordering extra now to be sure I don't run out, since our local store ran out. July 10, 2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by disappointing results after applying this product over a week ago on my 3 horses i see only a minimal difference in the number of flies on them. no difference on the face and legs at all! maybe helping some around their privates? my vet said to only use a herbal spray in combination with this and i have not found an herbal that is effective so overall i am very disappointed in the results June 17, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nothing Better. This stuff works great. My horse's tail and main look great for the first time in 3 years. Nothing else for my girl. She deserves the best and she got it now. May 27, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for Ticks I haven't noticed a huge difference in keeping the flies off my horses. However, no more TICKS! July 15, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Freedom 45 Spot-On is Great! I used this product for the first time on my Quarter Horse mare, and my daughter's pony. I am so happy with the results. I was previously putting fly spray on them once/or twice a a day. Now they have no flies biting them. I will see a fly around the ponies eyes occasionly, but keep a mask on her. Overall I am very pleased and pleasantly surprised with this product. June 9, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best thing for flies so far I find is works well to keep my horse from going nuts especially in spring. I wish is lasted longer than 2 a month. For $2 a dose that is a good price...better that what you spend on all that spray stuff. May 12, 2010

I choose this product to hopefully repel off the nasty bugs that continually bother my horse. Since I am not available daily to spray her, I figured the drops might be beneficial.

Is this product sweat and water resistant?
A shopper on Mar 24, 2014
Best Answer: I believe it is suppose to be. Keep in mind you have to apply every two weeks. I really don't think any of the "spot-on" treatments work as well as I hoped for flies but seem to do a good job with ticks. Do to the fact that I trail ride I continue using for the tick control.

I have a chestnut that is sensitive to some products. Have you had good luck with chestnuts using this product? Is there an antidote if he has a reaction. He gets hives from some homemade remedies such as Dawn.

Best Answer: I used it for my black Tenessee Walker. It worked better for her than the other products they sell in the feed store & I believe it was because spot on does not contain citronella & I think some horses who have sensitivities are sensitive to it also. I also use it on my Friesian gelding who gets itchy & it works for him also. Good luck I think it is worth a try.
