Granted my horse used it as a toy, but many will! First two days, the caribiner snap broke; then the plastic at the the top closure; finally the hinges failed. If the plastic were either stronger or more flexible, might work. Also rubbed hair off my horse's face where he would stretch his lips in to get the hay. The concept is great, just not a great design.

Have had 4 of these feeders up since last Oct and I know I have saved 25% in hay cost and it now takes them up to 3hrs to eat each meal. There is less manure to clean up and no waste. Great product

This thing is amazing. Hung it in the middle of the stall and it keeps my energetic horse busy for a long time. I did find hanging it against the wall gave my horse something to push it up against and he ate much faster. Hanging it from the rafters, makes it more challangeing for my boy to get his hay. It also doubles as a toy that he can bump around the stall and keeps his boredom to a minimum. I also put a swivel snap on it so it spins like a dream, adding to the attraction. I like it and so does my horse.

I am the founder and CEO for the Health EZ Hay Feeder. I want to thank everyone for their feedback and opinion. I love the creativity some of you have used with regard to the health EZ hay feeder! It has lead to great inspiration, innovation and reengineering! We are constantly improving. I have listed some improvements and suggestions below:We have made several adjustments to the Hay Feeder in recent months. We have drilled holes in the bottom so that zip-ties can replace the hinges if they break. This has been effective! We have also strengthened the inside handles so the clip breaks first. PLEASE keep in mind I designed this feeder to give way at certain pressure points to insure the animals safety over feeder integrity.A suggestion for hanging: Hang the feeder in the center of stall to reduce noise and breakage. Hanging from trees in the pasture is handy too!

I bought this product a few days ago thinking finally a hay net my horse probably won't break! I was satisfied the first day, but the second day my horse had broken the clip, to hold the two halves together, in half. The halves of the box also don't fit together well. I love the concept, but as stated by other reviews it needs stronger materials. I just feel that for $40 I could of recieved a stronger much stronger product. Some positive aspects of the product are that there has been no hay waste since I started using it and the amount of time it takes her to eat the hay is longer.

I really like this product. It has really cut down on hay waste. My only desire for change would be if were a little bigger. I feed twice a day and it's okay for the day time feeding, but doesn't hold enough for nighttime. (I feed a grass hay.)

My horse had this broken the first day he ate from it. The problem is the string used to hold the two halves together. Poor construction to say the least. It's a good idea, but needs tweaking to make it more durable.

Love the concept, used it for a horse that had a throat surgery and had to be fed on the ground but trampled his hay. I hung it low so he could eat& stall was kept much cleaner but the first day he managed to crack the plastic and by the next day popped the hinge apart. Material could be way stronger to prevent this.

I bought 2 of these and within a few weeks, all of the bottom hinges were broken. Luckily I have a handy husband who drilled holes and we closed them with the plastic zip ties and it works well. However, the snap they give you to hang them with needs a swivel on it. We figured that out after my boys had broken 2 of the top rings. They get pretty rough with it and bang it around. After we put the swivel ring in between the snap and the rope it seemed to work fine. Great for keeping them from messing up their hay and wasting it. Also, safe.
