NEED TO KEEP WATER FROM FREEZING IN MY FOAL STALL. DO NOT LIKE ELECTRIC BUCKETS FOR MY BABIES BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO PLUG INTO AN OUTLET AND THE BABY COULD POSSIBLY BIT INTO THE CORD.

Does this item have to be mounted or can it sit on the floor?
A shopper on Dec 30, 2014
Best Answer: I have not actually starting using it yet although I may have to tonight with how cold it is. I did read before I bought that a couple people used it on the ground and it worked well for them. That is how I am going to use it too. I also have a slow hay feeder on the ground and may put the bucket between the wall and the feeder. I may just put cookies in the bucket the first night of use so she will want to go to it. It should work on the ground if your horse does not purposely kick things around or play with things. My horse is around 27 so she is over that playfulness!!

Nancy J on Apr 16, 2015
Best Answer: As per High Country, any standard five gallon bucket should fit in the holder.

What hardware or size hardware do I need to attach it to the wall?
A shopper on Nov 14, 2014
Best Answer: Hello,

Unfortunately the type of hardware needed would be at your discretion depending upon where you intend to mount the item. Each type of surface will require a different type of hardware to ensure that the item stays in place.

What keeps water warm ?
A shopper on Sep 19, 2014
Best Answer: It's not that the water stays warm, but that the thermal holder helps keep the water at more of a constant temperature. It helps to keep the water warmer when the air temperatures get cold and in reverse, when the air temperatures rise in the summer, it helps keep the water cooler. I have had very good luck with this product and have found that even when temps drop down in the lower 20's, they don't ice up. You do need to make sure the water level in the bucket is lower than the top of the insulated holder. I highly recommend this product!

There is no description or extra photos. Is this a bucket inside an insulated holder and I assume the horse just pushes down on s float that sits on the surface? Thanks for you help.
W K on Mar 1, 2014
Best Answer: Last one of these I saw, it was indeed a 5 gallon bucket inside an insulated "holder." The kind my neighbor has isn't High Country Plastics, but I believe their design is the same.
