Why did you choose this?

Good Price and was the second best selling mounting block. Its only a hair shorter than the 3 step block. I have a tall quarter horse mare and can not mount her from the ground. Usually if on trail she has to go on a hill or ditch for my foot to get into the stirrups. THis block allows me to mount just fine and is easy to lift and carry place to place. I also take this block when I travel out of town or any where I stay a few days. Beats finding a fence or gate to climb on. lol.

Could you mount a 17hand horse with this?
Destiny P on Jul 5, 2015
Best Answer: I mount a 15.3 hand horse with it and I have a hip problem. I guess it would really depend on how tall or short you are. I am 5'7'" myself with an inseam of 34". I have more leg than I do upper body. I do have a three step and it is too tall for me to mount my horse. But it works great for the kids that ride this same horse.
The kids are 8-12 years old. Hope this helps.
