My husband loves these salt block holders because they contain the salt block even though 95% of it has been licked off. He couldn't find them in stores so he bought the wire hangers. I just threw out one of those that the horse tore apart. I told him I would look on the internet and am happy to find it. It will be an early Christmas present to him.

We purchased two horseshoe salt block holders 3 years ago, they are still in great shape and none of the hardware has fallen off or rusted. Why others have had such problems may be because they weren't put together correctly. (?) We've used the wire block holders (bare wire and plastic coated) and both styles would have rusted and fallen apart in a years time or less. For us this product has held up and we have no complaints.

This seemed like a cute and practical way to hold salt blocks. We have 10 or 15 of these at my barn and I have not been impressed. They break easily and then the screws fall off and the whole holder just hangs there. They don't last longer than a month or two and at this price, they aren't worth it. It just isn't worth anything and I ended up throwing them out and replacing them with plain old salt block holders.

I ordered 3 originally. One was missing a piece when it arrived. (Not in the box either) Company was wonderful and replaced it. When the new one arrived, it was missing the same piece on the opposite side. They replaced that one also. The others have been up less than a week and 2 of the connector pieces have fallen off already and the hex nuts which hold the screw in place are lost in the shavings. Plastic is cheap and the manufacturer definitely has a quality problem with this product. Company has been great to stand behind the product though.

I thought it was adorable, but the screws are constantly coming out causing parts to become lost in the bedding of the stall - I've had it 5 months and it needs replaced. Pet approval 4 stars because the horse isn't picky. LOL

I have had this for a few years, it very sturdy. My horses break those other cheap wire salt brick holders, not this one!
