For comfort and fit. To reduce minor pressure points under my saddle and give my horse a more pleasurable experience. My sister owns one and likes it. Tried it on my horse and he says he likes it too.

Best Answer: Hello Donna: You may need a build-up pad to help lift the saddle off of his withers a bit. You can also back you horse backwards up hill. You will see the back muscles contract and release has he lifts his back legs up to get this done. This will build up his own back muscles up again and will help him with his sway back from old age.
