A friend referred us to this blanket. She has one for her horse. We saw how well hers held up to a pack of geldings while every blanket we purchased just seemed to fall apart.

Hi, I am looking into buying this blanket for both of my horses. I was wondering if you can use one of the layers as just a turnout sheet? My horse just destroyed hers and my gelding could use with a new one anyway due to his being at least 5 years old(medium weight blanket)
I figured if it is a 3 in 1 I can use it as a light-medium and a heavy weight blanket??? also can you attach a neck cover??

thanks,
em

Best Answer: You can use this item separately however if your horses are two separate sizes then I cannot guarantee it will fit. Layers can be used together for optimal warmth and protection or individually for different levels of warmth. First layer of the system consists of Kensingtons signature protective sheet. 1000 x 2000 Denier Textilene that is formulated to withstand fading, fire, mildew, soiling and wear and tear. Mesh hold snow out and away from the other layers. Second layer is a 600 denier Lami-Cell outershell that is rip-stop, waterproof, and highly breathable. Liner is manufactured of CoolPlus that will wick away moisture. Final layer consists of a reversible quilted blanket which includes 120 grams of hollow fiberfill insulation. One side of liner is 70 denier nylon and other side is 12oz pre-shrunk poly cotton.

Just wondering if you could give me some more details on what the three layers actually consist of? It doesn't really say much other than an "outer shell" and "liner".

Best Answer: The layers of the system consist of; Our signature Protective Sheet, manufactured of 1000 x 2000 Denier Textilene®, specially formulated to withstand fading, fire, mildew, soiling and wear and tear. The Textilene Mesh even holds snow out and away from the outer shell of the other layers, keeping your horse comfortable and dry. The 2nd layer includes a 600 denier rip-stop, waterproof, highly breathable Lami-Cell® outer shell, with a specially formulated CoolPlus® liner that wicks away moisture. The 3rd layer consists of a reversible quilted blanket which includes a 120 grams of hollow fiberfill insulation; one side of the liner offers a 70 denier nylon liner,
while the other side consists of a 12oz. pre-shrunk poly cotton lining. This layer gives your horse extra needed warmth.
