Kensington CatchMas k Fly Mask
The CatchMask functions as a fly mask until you attach a lead rope snap through the latch assembly converting the mask into a secure catch halter. It looks normal to other horses so stable mates with a habit of removing each other's masks tend not to. Built with highly durable and weather resistant Waxwear binding and 1000 x 2000 denier mesh for long lasting wear. Textilene provides 73% UV protection to the horse's face keeping your horse cooler.

Why did you choose this?
Will the large fit a drat horse?
Best Answer: I usually buy the regular kensington fly masks. I decided to try the catchmask. I found that it ran a size smaller than the regular fly masks. My 1000 morgan was wearing a medium in the regular kensington fly masks so that is what I order for the catchmask. It was smaller than the regular fly masks so I think that the catch masks run a liltle smaller in size. You might want to order it a little bigger than what your horse normally wears.
Does the fly mask have like a loop on it that you can clip your leap rope on or is their a really weird halter on?
Best Answer: The mask does not have a physical metal loop to hook to. They have velco on the bottom side where mask opens up to put on horse..once you fasten it..they have 2-holes where your snap slides into slots..on the bottom..so it is actually is using the mask as the "Loop" abull snap is too big and will not fit into the slots..FYI..I love the mask..as It is super durable and holds its shape well. I thought the same thing as you..the way they described it..maybe there is a halter built into the mask; but no it is just the mask..but it is pretty tough..it is great for just what it was designed for ..to have something on the horses head ..that is safe for them to have on all day..keeps flies out of their face..and if need be you can clip a lead line to it for leading where you need them... what about size?
Best Answer: My horses are standard-size quarter horses & a mixed breed thoroughbred.
I use large for all of then. The Velcro under throat latch makes easy size adjustment but mostly I make tightest. They are excellent quality, very durable; look very classy as can match to color & stay on well out to pasture. My horses like them & put out there heads for them. I put on in morning & take off at night. I've used these masks exclusively for a couple years & are my favorites by far. On sale often at great price. There's opening at Velcro to attach a lead role when you wish - very handy nice catch feature.
Do the fox tails stick in the mask? What is the material like on the edges, it doesn't look like the fuzzy stuff that gets full of foxtail?
Best Answer: no - this mask in all nylon mesh bound edges, no fleece as many others have. only place for velcro is on throat latch. very secure velcro fastener which holds mask secure, velcro with slit in center which allows a lead rope to fasten. my favorite fly masks ever and classy looking too, as colors to blend with horse hair colors.
Does this mask provide UV protection?
Best Answer: the 'screen' of mesh, should offer protection from sun damage to horses eyes.
can the horse see well with this mask on? Can it be used while riding trails?
Best Answer: My horses see well when out in the field in sunlight but I believe they don't see as well at night. I presently have my 2 turned out 24/7 with run in sheds and I notice they can see but not as well in the mornings when I feed and it's still dark. I don't believe I would use it on trails if you are going through wooded areas of varying light.
Did it give your horse any sores?
Best Answer: he won't keep it on long enough to find out. it is pretty loose on him so it does not rub. but he tends to tear off his fly masks. i have not seen any sores
