Rated 5 out of 5 by Great fly mask! I've bought three of these and love them! They fit great and stay on with no shifting. They really help keep the flys off my boys. August 22, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love it! I ordered this fly mask in blue and I love it! I got the large size It looks and fits great on my 16.3hh Quarter Horse. I have had it on him for a few days and there have been no issues. The velcro is very strong. I would suggest it to anyone. Way better material than the Cashel ones and doesn't seem to want to come off as easily. Good product. July 11, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Liked my first one so much I bought 3 more The 1st fly mask I have ever had stay on for more than a day. The black flies are awful this year and this mask totally relieved my entire herd of them in their ears and eyes. Best fitting mask ever. May 30, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Cool design, horrible rubbing! I bought this for my horse when he was a a 2 year old and it rubbed his nose, chin, cheek and poll extremely badly. The material is very rubber like which makes it easy to rub against your horse. The best thing about this product is the fleece trim and covered ear material. Overall, do not buy. I will never buy one again. April 9, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by must try one! I got an xl for my ottb, her head is huge like a warmbloods and this looks great on her, she is a dark bay so got her the plum ice plaid color. The fleece keeps from rubbing and the ears are nice to keep the flys off. It is made amazingly, very thick materialand the velcrow on it velcrows twice so that it wont come off in the pasture. If you are looking for good quality for your money I would go with this one! It also doesn't make her face sweaty like some do. Very satisfied! March 29, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this Fly mask! My mom got this and the matching fly sheet for my horse as my graduation present and we absolutely love it. I used to bring my horse out to graze and she would run back in the barn but now she actually enjoys being outside! she is a 15.1hh Morgan with a large head and the mask fits the contours of her head and ears perfect with plenty of movement room but no openings for the flies. I would highly recommend this fly mask to anyone looking to give their horses a comfortable summer. December 1, 2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not a good design! I bought the XL Kensington flymask w/ears for my draft-cross and the Large for my quarter horse. When I (tried to) put them on I noticed two problems. The ear space is way too tight. (It's not even 1 1/4 inches from ear to ear!) The second problem is the throat latch. It's too long to fit into the doubble closure but when you cut it to the right lenght it unravels, plus you end up with very little velcro to make it stick. The fleece makes them sweat in the summer heat and there is no cut-out for the forelock which I prefer. The only thing I like about the mask is the bug-eye design which keeps the mask off their eyes. I'm going to return the one for my quarter horse as I can't even get it on him due to the tightness around the ears. I already cut the latch on the XL...anybody interested in buying it? ;-) July 17, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Sun/Fly Protection Bought this for my daughters bald face Paint mare who was badly burned at previous home. She has worn it daily for at least 6 months and it is in fabulous shape. The ear mesh is super soft and the fleece keeps it from rubbing at all. It has kept her burn free all fall and winter! I am very pleased with the UV protection and will be buying the long nose model for the upcoming summer to help protect her pink nose as well. Thanks for a great affordable product that really works!! March 28, 2011

Good value. Delivers 1-2 summers (NC) wear-life.

Mare needs ear protection and I like the pattern in the mask. Also, the mask doesn't fall down her nose where the protection is not needed.

I have one without the ears and it is lasting FOREVER and no sores!

Does this mask have a hole for the forelock to come out? My gelding has a huge forelock and I would hate for it to be stuck in the mask.
A shopper on May 13, 2014
Best Answer: Hi!!! No, this mask does not have a hole for the forelock and I've been thinking about cutting one. My horse has a fairly wispy forelock, so if your gelding has a substantial one I would recommend a different mask entirely. Hope this helps!!! Happy trails!!! :)

Does this mask strap with a buckle or Velcro? I had one with a buckle once and it got caught while my horse was wearing it.
A shopper on Aug 9, 2014
Best Answer: Hi!! The straps are Velcro, but I should mention that there is no opening for the forelock and I feel like it wasn't helping my horse's already thin forelock to grow. I ended up cutting the ear covers off as well, because they were so large that when my horse would bend over to eat out of her feeder they filled up with itchy little bits of hay that lodged in the mesh. I also had to cut a space in the back so I could attach it to the neck portion of my fly sheet. I was able to make it work, but I would not buy this particular mask again. Sorry for the long response, but I wish I'd known those things in advance!!! Hope that helps!!! Happy trails!!! :)

this is my first horse. I have no idea what kind of fly mask to get. Any is there anyone certain fly mask that are great quality but not expensive ?
A shopper on Sep 20, 2015
Best Answer: No, not really. Fly masks are generally a bit pricey. The best mask is one that fits without rubbing and stays on., the fleece helps against rubbing. The fit is generally a mask that is somewhat loose, especially in the eye area. The Kensington wears well and if you have problems with mites in the ears, then get a mask with ears. Just as a note, the major discount store ( W), has a mask that is about $14.99, but only in horse size.

If your horse is sunlight sensitive, then be sure to get a UV mask, yes it happens with horses with light eyes. Also, if your horse has a white nose and is in the sun, you might consider a mask with a nose piece. If your horse already has some eye irritation, put Vaseline around the eye for a few days so if any flies get to the eye, they won't land. My practice is to have at least two masks. One on my mare and one in the wash that way I bet about two years of use. The greatest wear concern it around the eyes an a mask is trashed when there is a breakdown in the webbing around the eyes. The next best thing on price is to buy at the end of the season on sale. Good luck.
