My Houdini horse can't get it off, 9/6/2011

Stacia from Glendale, AZ

It took a few tries, but we finally found a flymask that my 3 year old Arab gelding couldn't get off. I really have to tighten the strap really tight since it's elastic, but he has been leaving it on. I tried Supermasks, Cashels, off brands and within hours he figured out how to get those off and destroyed. This flymask has lasted us all summer and looks ready for next year too. My only complaint is that because it isn't very flexible material, it isn't very easy to trick my horse into getting it on, but I manage by sliding it down onto his head from behind.

Houdini Fly Mask Horse, 7/19/2011

Susanne from Beaufort, SC

I have been trying fly masks on my horse since feburary and I could find a single one that my horse was comfortable with he would get them off within minutes in the pasture. My trainer had bought one and heard me get mad at yet another fly mask failure and low and behold she had just bought one of the Bug eyed fly masks. It has stayed on for over a month and he loves it he puts his face down for me to put it on and he doesn't try to immediatly try and rub it off. I love it. Only flaw is that once the elastic strap looses its elastisity the mesh starts rubbing on the jaw points so im looking for another one with the fleece lining. Other then that the eyes dont cave in they stay pushed out and as long as you trim the eye whiskers they eye doesn't get irritated from blinking too much. Great product
