Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 23 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Better than I expected The reviews had me worried but I needed a cheap fix to my new mares discomfort. Not only was she riddled with fly bites but she was covered in sunburn! Since I didn't know how she would act with a blanket I wasn't willing to pay an arm and a leg for something that may end up in pieces. I was leery about her sweating as she is a 1150 pound 15.1 she's well as fat! The blanket fit fine and the sweat was minimal. October 14, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Agree with the sweating I bought this 2 years ago for my 2 girls, and yes it keeps the bugs off their hides, but they also SWEAT too much! No air movement underneath, on the hot days when flies are active and the protection is needed. If I only use it on cool days, well, flies aren't a bother on such days, so it mainly just keeps the horses clean. That is nice. As it is, I now tend to use it as a light blanket liner for layering on our "cold" winter days, when "I" feel the need for the mares to be a bit more bundled. Also, when I first began using it in the spring when flies became active, the horses shed into it and the hair stuck into the weave, making it into a hair-mat inside, adding extra weight and heat. (I have to use a dog brush and groom my blankets to remove the hair - not what I really want to spend my time doing!). I found the construction satisfactory and it has withstood the daily turnout of my mares, receiving the normal thread picks and pulls, but the sheet is really only suitable to keep a horse clean in a cool environment. Rated 5 out of 5 by love this coat I will never buy another mesh fly sheet EVER! My horse LOVES his kool coat and he does not rip it apart like he has with every other fly sheet I've put on him. PLUS this fits him very well, versus the fly sheets which DO NOT!! This is perfect and I will never buy anything else for my mustang! July 9, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by I'd spend a little more for better quality. It is not mesh so it makes the horses sweat a lot during the day. It is a lot heavier than I thought it was going to be and the stitching is poor quality. I've had them for two weeks and have sewed each of them 4 times because the stitching on the buckles and black lining is VERY POOR. They are effective in keeping the flies off though haha. Rated 1 out of 5 by Thumbs Down I had to remove the sheet when it was overcast, 70 degrees with 67% humidity, because my horse was drenched in sweat. June 17, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by GREAT Had this for a year now and it only has two small holes it in from my gelding wearing it outside 24/7 in the cooler weather. Keeps him clean but I do not leave it on in hot weather because it doesn't breath well enough for hot Tennessee weather. March 11, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Really Nice I first got it for one of my horses so she wouldn't bleach before shows. She stayed black till i took it off. I moved it onto my other filly who rolls, jumps, and runs like crazy, it stays like glue. Outside the fact it's a little tight in the chest it's a great blanket. Love it! November 12, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great in Cool Weather I will start off by saying, I really do like this sheet. It fits well, doesn't slip, and keeps my horse's skin protected from sun and flies. Unfortunately, the first time I put it on him it was in the upper 80's outside and he begin to sweat after a few hours. I did not put it back on him until it was in the 60's or lower. As long as the weather is only moderately warm, he doesn't sweat and it really is a great sheet. The material is thick and I've had no rips (yet). But my horses aren't very rough on sheets. Why did you choose this? Store
These sheets have worked really well and fit my Haflinger mares. I feel they are not hot on my horses on warm days. They last pretty well. My Girls are rather ruff on them, rubbing against things. By the end of the summer/fall they have lots of patches.

Best Answer: 6' = 72"
So 6' 9" would be 72" + 9" or 81"

Does this product have back straps?
A shopper on Sep 6, 2014
Best Answer: first of all I have bought many of these fly sheets, but never a size 84 as mentioned. I buy 72 ...these fly sheets have been the best until this year. They have always had 2 straps in the front and also had velcro to assist in staying in place. They have been awesome sheets and I have bought many of them. They all do have back straps...unfortunately this year they decided to only put one strap in the front and I have now moved over to a SAaxon fly sheet as I need and like to 2 front closures on the sheet. Hope they bring that feature back as they were the only fly sheets I bought until this year.

how do you measure the size?
A shopper on Aug 8, 2015
Best Answer: In five easy steps, you can make sure you have the right size blanket to keep your horse protected when the temperature dips.
1.Make sure your horse is on a flat surface and standing as square as possible.

2.Grab a flexible tape measure and place one end of your tape measure at the center of the horse’s chest, over the high point of the shoulder.

3.Hold the tape measure in place and run it alongside the horse’s body until you reach the rear of the hind leg. It’s best to have a friend to help you with this part.

4.Your total measurement in inches should equal a blanket size.

5.If not, simply round up to the next available size.
