Rated 5 out of 5 by LOVE IT! I love this bit. My horse takes it easily and loves to chomp on it when I ride. One thing I don't like is that you have to wash this bit off after every ride and after a while it rusts. But my riding instructor told me that horses like the sweet taste of rust too and that the rust doesn't hurt them in any way! I was happy about that, but I really don't like the orange color on the sides of my Quarter Horse's mouth. But other than that, this bit is excellent and I also like it better because this bit is nicer to horses! December 30, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great bit! I personally love full cheeks, and this one for being the cheapest on the site is great quality! My only complaint is it looks like the "sweet iron" is rubbing off? July 30, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by AWESOME! i <3 love this bit, my horse also does. buying another! July 19, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love This Bit I love it. It works for the English and Western disciplines. I like that the mouth piece is sweet iron. Almost every horse I'v ridden likes it. But I would only use it on horses who's mouth gets dry and rubs. January 30, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by ok.... this is a good bit but the actaul sweet iron rubs off.....(weird) my horse like the chew on bits and i think my mare caused it..but this is a good bit for the price i will be getting another sometime. January 19, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by What A Great Bit I have a Thoroughbred who has a very floppy jelly like mouth and his bits would just fall out of his mouth. Now all he does is keep his mind on keeping in it's like a game of his now! He plays with it everyday when we are riding! November 16, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good Buy! I bought this bit sometime ago and it is great! A loose ring snaffle bit kept going in my horse's mouth and was hard use the leading rein with. My horse was young so it is good to start off with the leading rein. This bit stay in the right place and was easy on his mouth like a loose ring snaffle. My horse is happy and so am I. My seasoned barn owner/ riding instructor suggested I try this type of bit for my 8 yr. old OTTB. Her suggestion is to make him "like" his work each time we enter the ring. My boy's great to ride, but sometimes a bit suggish during exercise. She wants to see a more frothy mouth and lively step.

My horse loves to chew on his bit so this will give him a nice taste when he does.

I have a 16.2hh Thoroughbred gelding, what size bit should I get?
A shopper on May 13, 2014
Best Answer: I have a 15.3, just shy of 16 hand tb/haflinger cross. She's a little on the lighter side of a draft cross. Her last bit was a 5 1/2 inch full cheek which fit well. I tried the 5 inch in the sweet iron korsteel and it fits perfectly on her. You may find the five and half to be a perfect fit!

I have a 15 y/o Morgan Gelding and am a western rider. This horse is new to me and as I never had a Morgan before only Q/Horses what size should I get?
Bill S on Apr 28, 2014
Best Answer: Chances are a 5" will work fine. I would check with a soft cotton string in your horses mouth, hold straight and mark each side at the outside of the lips. Measure and voila! It doesn't matter english or western as long as the bit fits. My green mare LOVES this bit. No pinches, tastes good to her, and is easy to control her head.
