I love this stuff!! After only a few uses, I have noticed a marked difference in the softness of my horse's mane and tail. I don't brush it out for every ride just two or three times a week. It smells kinda nice too. I definitely recommend this!

I bought this for an icelandic gelding, if you aren't familiar with them, picture the hairiest pony you can think of, times 10. His mane reaches his shoulder easy, his forelock his nostrils, and his tail would drag the ground but I had it trimmed (it's still incredibly thick)and of course the underneath layer was all dread locks. His owner had the idea of running through it with a knife but I attacked him with this and now he's soft and shiny :) the reason I gave it low pet approval is because he didn't like the noise the sprayer made. so if your horse is the spooky type, use caution when using.

I use this not only on my horse's mane and tail, but the whole body. Following grooming, a light mist followed by the soft brush is fantastic for a quick clean up! Makes them soft and shiny. :)

I have two horses with manes whose length stretches bellow the shoulder point. To keep these manes has been an uphill battle, loosing most of the time, ending up with rasta manes. This is the best detangler there is. I have tried every one of the others plus human products too. With equine specific there is present one or most of the following: too sticky, too drying, leaving a disagreeable silicon film on the hair , or it doesn't work on dry hair, won't last for beans, and they all stink! The perfume is so strong and frankly disagreeable.
Mane n' Tale does the job very well even on dry hair , which is how I use it most because it's cold here most of the year. Leaves the manes manageable and supple. Takes care of the whirlwind nuts easily, and the rasta bunches are no match for it. With Mane n' Tale I can do the job in ten minutes what it used to take me half hour and up. One of the best things about also, it leaves no sticky residue, it lasts, no coating, non-drying and it does not have a strong perfume.
I am so glad I found this product because I have been many times tempted to give my farewells to long manes, until now.

i have always loved the Mane n Tail brand of shampoo and conditioner. This product met my need to detangle my new Freisien horse's mane and tail which is very thick and long. Its non-alcoholic so it does not dry the hair out and will help me keep it nice until I can wash her in the warmer months ahead! And the lower than usual price helps alot.

Ive been using this every since I got my horse, and I love it!! Only need a squirt or two and the whole mane or tail is detangled. The small "trial" size lasts me months!! Recommend it to anyone!! Only complaint is it is a tad on the expensive side, but it IS worth it!!

I bought this in a store not online. I recently bought a horse and she was a mess! Her mane and tail had a ton of brambles in it and it was all notty and stuff. I sprayed this on the spots that had brambles or where tangled then I used a comb and brush and they came out easily and I think my horse liked it. I would definitely reccommend this to anyone!

As another reviewer stated, it doesn't even feel slippery. The stuff actually thickened and got sticky like glue after being in the air a few seconds?? And when "dry" the gluey feel stays a bit...now try to get that big mess of wind curls out! My horse DOES have an ultra thick curly mane (Diana Ross would gasp with envy), so may be okay with other mane textures. But if you don't like losing hair like, say, ALL horse owners, don't buy it! But you know you will, it's a horse product and pretty cheap, LOL. We can't help it can we. And if your horse is like mine, he'll like that you opened this can of worms and have to spend all day at his side fiddling with his mane.

I bought a bottle of this based on all of the great reviews and the fact that what I usually use, Cowboy Magic Detangler and Shine is very expensive per oz. I don't know if I got a bad bottle, but my solution was very watery and not greasy at all. It was not even slippery feeling. I sprayed it on one of my horse's manes that gets dread locks quickly because of her naturally curly type hair to try and work out one of the twisted locks. Normally Cowboy Magic would feel very slippery on the hair and the lock's knots could be easily detangled by hand. With this watery solution, even after I saturated the lock, it just felt wet and not slippery, so it did not seem to work any bettr than plain old water. I was disappointed, since I was so hoping this would be an inexpensive alternative to Cowboy Magic. Could have been I got a bad bottle, but I am not in to spending any more money to test that theory.

this product is so worth your money and it works like a dream. simply spray it and start brushing. It really helps to not break of the hair and it makes brittle hair pliable again!! It also makes the manes and tails really shining and does not attract dirt!!!!!

I have a Haflinger gelding who LOVES to roll in his pasture, find every available twig, and braid it very nicely into his thick mane and tail. Before I used this detangler, it would take me forever trying to untangle the knots and even then, whenever I brushed it, hair would break and fall out. Now I've been using this for 4 months and have had excellent results! His mane has grown to his shoulder and his tail is just starting to brush the ground. And no more knots and embedded twigs for me! His mane and tail are soft, shiny and healthy. Another plus is that once it dries, it doesn't have a thick unnatural- feeling residue. Thanks Mane 'n Tail!

This detangler works wonders on both my horse's mane and tail! Not only does it really help get the tangles and knots out, but it adds a shine to his mane and tail. My only warning is that if too much is applied, it can make your horse's mane and tail look greasy.

My friend has this detangler and it works great. Her arabian has a long mame amd tail, which doesn't make it easier to brush. After it was sprayed with Mane and Tail detangler, the knotys came right out. I've seen this spray used on at least three horses on many seperate occasions and it has worked wonders on each. I plan on buying a bottle as soon as possible!

I have used this for over 3 years on two horses, on tails and manes. It is part of my regular grooming regimen. My horses' tails drag on the ground (until I bang them) and my gelding's mane was 18 inches long before I pulled it. I wash and condition the hair, braid it, and leave it for a while, depending on when the horse works it out. I use fly spray daily so the horses don't need to use their tails. When I need to take the tails down, I use the detangler to be able to easily brush through them without pulling out any hair. Then I rebraid, washing if needed. I couldn't do this without detangler (even braided tails get tangled). Regular grooming and daily worming keep tails from being rubbed. This has worked for me for years, and it can work for you. Use the right products and the right regimen and have lovely long tails and manes.

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT. This thing works wonders! The horse I used it on has a very thick and tangly mane AND tail. i used it once and his mane is now soft and easy to comb! It didnt work that well with the tail though. But that was with the comb. I am going to try a brush. =] This is a GREAT detangler!!!

My mare's tail was always tangled no matter what product I used until I got some of this stuff! It works great, also leaves my mares white tail looking glossy and shiny without looking greasy. The only down to this product is that if you use it on your horses mane it will make your reins slippery. I used this once at a barrel race before I made my run and lost my reins. I would suggest using it the day before a show so you dont loose your reins! Otherwise totally worth it!
