Rated 4 out of 5 by They smell like oatmeal cookies it took my horse a while to like but he now loves them. i call them make me pretty cookies. December 28, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by FlaxSnax - My horse's favorite My horse loves these treats! He is a very picky eater, and doesn't like apples, but when he hears the crinkle of the bag he doesn't leave me alone. He even sniffs my pockets in case I forgot to give him one.. :) Luckily, the local Wal-mart has these but they are $13 a bag. October 17, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by FlaxSnax My horses loved these, and the cookies are easy to break into smaller pieces for training. After stretching one bag out over the course of a couple of weeks, I noticed my mare started to shine, and dapples even started showing up on her bay coat. But buying the FlaxSnax locally (at $16 a bag), I couldn't afford it. Buying milled flax seed from the grocery store brought the same results at a much more affordable price ($2 a box). If you have money to spend, they're a great treat -- even an occasional one. But, there are more affordable alternatives to get the same results, if you are willing to sacrifice the "treat". Rated 5 out of 5 by Horses love these! I have been feeding flaxsnax to my horses for 4 years now and they loved it! I think it helps with their beautiful dappling coats too! February 28, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Can't get enough! So far, all the horses at the barn where I ride just love these! I have had one of the ponies practically bury his nose in my pocket to get to them. Definitely worth trying to see if your horse likes them. :) November 30, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for picky horses! I have a horse who will not eat carrots, suger, and raw oats. He absolutly loves these! April 7, 2010

I want basic horse vitamins in a single yummy snack or wafer. Can you recommend something? Our horses are in a big herd and individual tubs do not work.

Best Answer: Flax Snax are a healthy treat, but not a supplement for vitamins, although it does contain some Omega3s and a small percentage of biotin. I use Manna Pro Vitality Supplement for a vitamin supplement. It comes in pellets similar to stable mix, so can be mixed in if you feed pellets. I also use Joint Combo for my older mare, which is also in pellets. It provides glucosamine, condroitin and biotin for joint and hoof maintenance. I don't know of a single "snack" or wafer that provides the full range of vitamins a horse may need as a supplement.
