Is there an expiration date? Have had an unopened gallon for around 4 years.
Best Answer: If oil is kept cold it will last a long time. If left out in the heat it will go rancid. To check it just open it up and if it is rancid you will smell it. This bran of rice oil is strong and darker in color. My horses don't care for it as much as the lighter rice oil offered.
Will this put weight on a very thin horse?
Best Answer: This item is used to add calories to a horse however I would check with your Vet to make sure this is the best supplement to help your horse gain weight.
is it safe for humans?
Best Answer: I would call manufacturer about that question. That said - I taste just about everything I feed my horse and am still alive to tell the tale!
what is the recommended feeding rate for 1000 lb. horse?
Best Answer: It depends on what result you are trying to achieve. They recommend 2 oz for adding sheen to the hair coat, 4 oz for weight gain, and 8 oz for significant weight gain. Make sure to introduce the oil gradually to the diet.
