I find it easier to just hook a halter instead of tie it. It is still adjustable so will work great for my horses.

They are constructed like the rope halters of over 50 yrs ago and I liked that construction better then just the knots.

New hook fastener.

I like rope halters because of their ability to adjust perfectly to each horse. The easy on attachment makes it easy not only for others to use, but also to make sure you adjust the halter to the right height on the horses face.

How do you adjust this halter and what do you do if you have a lot of excess rope by the adjustment knot after it is shortened up?
A shopper on Oct 24, 2015
Best Answer: Unhook halter, loosen knot on right side of halter, slip the necessary length through the knot loop. (extend the tail to make the halter smaller, reduce the length of the tail to make the halter larger. ) Pull knot back down snug and your ready to try for fit.

what do I do with the extra length on the side without the hook, its about a foot long?
dona n on Aug 9, 2014
Best Answer: The halters give ample length for any size head, but I cut the extra tail of the rope off. As I do not like heating and melting the plastic because I think that hard end poses a risk to eyes, I either tightly wrap heavy thread around the rope about 1" from the end before cutting, or I wrap black electrical tape very tightly. The cut end will fray some, but it will be soft. I also put mine in the wash machine with jeans when they are dirty. Love them. Great price and good quality!
