Good for the price, 4/24/2012

speckledgreymare from California

I bought this pad several months ago to use on my hay-bellied Arab mare. I was pleasantly surprised that the girth fit with holes to spare. Overall, I am pretty happy with the product. It does tend to slide back off my mare's withers, but I'm hoping that using it more often will contour it to her back some more. Some notes on the product: The black isn't actually black. It's more of a really dark navy blue in real life. I don't mind much—I couldn't decide between black and blue initially anyways :)—but it's something to keep in mind. The metal of the buckle sits right on the horse's side. This is my biggest complaint as I think it has pinched my mare a few times. Also, the girth lacks the rigidity of regular girths. The fleece is soft but I don't like how "empty" it feels. The material on the top of the pad is AMAZING. My mare took off cantering up a steep hill while I was riding with this pad and I couldn't have fallen off even if I wanted to. The material really "sticks" to your jeans/riding pants. :) All and all, it's a decent choice if you're on a tight budget like me. The girth's quality could use some improvement and it would help if the pad was more contoured, but it's held up well so far and I'm pretty happy with it.

GREAT PAD (dogs use it more than i do), 3/29/2012

BB from ray ray city, ga

Ok the title is odd but true i have a AWSOME 2 yearold mustang and we have not ridden her yet but i have a italian greyhound that loves to go for rides! lol the saddle seemed uncomfertable for them both so i bought this pad and they both love it! I walk my little mustang everyday around our 2 mile block with my greyhound on her and when we get back my mare is almost NEVER sweaty even in GA heat! i have ridden in it a couple times with other horses and its super comfy. My mare has never had problems with it although it does slip really bad sometimes not sure why though cinch is always tight as it can be and it dont slip all the time so just weird overall great pad and i hope to use it more soon! I have had it 1+ years now and still works great although color did fade from bright navy to light gean color but still looks awsome totaly recomend it!

Gets the job done, , 2/4/2012

Nadine from Ohio

but when I recieved it in the mail it was twisted and doesn't sit properly on my horse's back. While riding, I have to frequently jerk it back in place because it slips to one side, even though the girth is as tight as is possible for my horse. Overall, it does what I want it to do, so I really can't coplain.

Was much better then expected, 1/13/2012

Bennysmom from Alamogordo NM

I've had my saddle pad for over a year now, well almost two years. I didn't have a saddle that fit my horse and also needed to work on my seat. Best way to do that bareback. Was very comfortable from the moment I put it on her, I ride my mare in it more then her saddle. She listens well and is comfortable. The microsuede also helps your rear stay put. I will buy another one, only problem is choosing the color. I know my current pad has many many more miles on it.

Excellent!, 11/21/2011

Alyssa from Lancaster, PA

Bought this as a birthday present for my friend and she LOVED it! The nylon strap is great to help you mount and if you wish to do faster work. Works just as well as other, more expensive pads.

Great bareback pad!, 9/14/2011

Stephanie from Portland, OR

This is my first bareback pad and it's the only one I need. I got this pad for my boney 16 year old mare and it works great. It's easy to put on and it provides cushion for both me and my horse. It does have fleese, but it really doesn't get as dirty as I thought it would. I definitely recommend it.

Great, 8/14/2011

MADDY from central square NY

I got this pad because my TB has the a really really bad boney back and i wanted to ride bareback on him so i got it. The strap that holds the stirrups on rubs really bad if your in shorts and the pad seems small maybe because my horse is 17.3 hands. =] hmm. I like it and so dose my quarter horse and TB. But one more thing my friend tightened it to much and it pinch my TB skin so bad =( which i don't like=[ =[=[

Great!!!, 8/9/2011

OneQuarterHorse from Princeton, KS

This pad is great, it doesn't rub or anything and it's easy to put on. It's really helpful with staying on, and it's nice and cushy, as opposed to my horse's back (bony withers). However, I always ride in jeans because it gave me sores when I rode in shorts. Painful. Then again saddles do that too so I guess jeans are just my must-have now:) Overall, it's a great pad

Fairly good for the price, 6/13/2011

horsegal101 from Glenelg, MD

My horse has high withers and this definately helped with that but not as much as i would have liked it to. It was one of the less expensive pads but I still feel it was a little pricey. My horse loves it, great color, I approve 100%!!

Durable, 4/12/2011

Darla from California

This pad is my favorite pad. My Arab who has very high withers, fits like a key to its lock in this pad. It also fits the high withered horse i ride. It still fits like a charm. Ive even tried it on a baby colt who seemed comfortable with it. I recommened it.

Good pad, 3/21/2011

The Feeshling from Lexington, KY

Great pad for the price. Fits both my fat gelding and my slimmer mare, both quarter types, but the gelding has high withers and the mare has low. It fits them both and neither of them seem to mind it or indicate it's uncomfortable. My only suggestion is that you might want to find some faux fleece to roll up and put on their withers between the edge of the pad and their skin, as the pad can pinch there a little even though neither of my horses indicate they are uncomfortable.

Ok For Price , 3/3/2011

Sam from Lawton,OK

You get what you pay for with this pad. I recommend using your own cinch as the one that comes with is not sturdy enough. I wish it was larger and thicker. It's not the most comfortable pad. My QH has regular withers.

AWESOME PAD!!!!, 2/14/2011

Samantha from pinckney michigan

I was a little leary at first buying this pad, only because of the cost..with it being so cheap it was not going to be very good quality. When it arrived I was so excited as it was very durable material. I have been out on the trails for 5 hours long on this pad with not one complaint, I am now spreadding the news to my equestrian buddies and they are also getting one.. thanks for the great product and im sure i wont need one anytime soon but if I ever do it will definately be the same one!!!!!

Makes High-Withered horses FUN to ride bareback!, 10/20/2010

Kayla from TX

My TB mare has moderate height withers, perhaps a bit on the high side, and when I ride bareback she is very tight in the back and not comfortable with me sitting on her without something between my jeans and her. The first time I used this pad, she immediately was supple and responsive, even though there were 7 other horses in the arena with her, which would annoy her even if I were using a saddle. Obviously, she felt much more comfortable with the pad on. Not only did she feel better, but I did! When I asked for a trot, I was surprised at how easy it was to stay straight and smooth as she bounced up and down (I don't post, by the way), I even stayed straight up as she sped up in her gait, which would have probably sent me sliding off without the pad. This pad works wonders, and there is a built-in withers into the front part of the pad, which leads me to believe it was made for high-withered horses. I dont recommend this for mutton-withered horses for this reason, because the built-in withers are high quality, and keep their shape, though it shouldnt be too much of a problem, because the girth is high-quality as well and can tighten enough to keep the pad from slipping, which would eliminate the effect of the ill-fit on a flat backed horse. I recommend this product to anyone out there, because it really helps out with bareback riding and keeping the horse sweat from getting onto you. The suede material is very nice and smooth, and the girth is very long and easily adjustable. It fit my 15.9 hh TB mare (who isnt thin, to say the least) with 4 adjustment holes to spare. (I dont know what to call them) Overall, this is an absolutely amazing product, and from what I can tell, it should be able to hold up for -over- 2 years (just an estimate, I've only used it once prior to writing this) with casual everyday use and proper care.
