Mustang Wool Square Western Saddle Blanket Liner
Made of nature’s most durable fiber, this 100% wool pad will provide long-lasting protection. Wool is the perfect fabric to protect your horse’s back. In addition to being a totally natural, wool absorbs up to 80% of its own weight in moisture, pulling it away from the skin. The porous material continues to breathe, allowing for the release of that moisture, keeping skin cool and dry. Wool also has tiny ‘barbs’ that grip the hair on your horse’s back for a close fit that prevents chafing and provides a steady, slip-free ride. Generously sized at 30” x 30”, this 1/2” blanket liner ensures a great experience for horse and rider.

Why did you choose this? Store
Going to use this as a pressing pad for my quilting. Friend has one that cost her a lot more through a quilt shop. My first reaction was that looks like a wool saddle pad and the search was on. The wool results in a better quality finished quilt blocks. I'm going to tell all my quilt friends!

wool is reportedly better at wicking away moisture. I wanted something light to put under the saddle blanket for a bit more padding

I have been experimenting with various pads to see which provide my horses with the most comfort. This one was reasonably priced and seems sufficient.

It's inexpensive and very functional. I have another one, but it's several years old

What's your favorite way to use this pad? Do you pair it with a blanket on top or another pad?
Richelle S on Sep 24, 2015
Best Answer: We used it under a show saddle and with an inexpensive but colorful blanket over the top. It was perfect for the jr rider and so nice to be able to change colors with the outfits! If an adult uses it, I'd think you'd want more padding than just this but it depends on saddle fit and other things as well. Watch other brands! Some are only 1/4" thick. I believe this one is 1/2". (Check to be sure before you buy! Things do sometimes change.)
