Will this work on an Aussie or endurance saddle, or only a Western saddle?
Elizabeth C on Mar 31, 2014
Best Answer: I lost the tug on mine and replaced it with a nylon dog collar of the same width (which you could also buy a couple of longer nylon dog collars to make it bigger.) People who need more holes in it to take it up on the horse: heat a small nail on your stove burner, use a pair of pliers to pick the nail up when it's really hot and quickly poke a hole in the nylon where you want the buckle to hold. A hot nail will seal the nylon as it makes the hole. (and just another note: don't drop the hot nail on the kitchen floor linoleum...!!)

Need to add all the measurements of this breast collar so we know before we buy if it will fit?
A shopper on May 23, 2015
Best Answer: I don't have access to mine at the moment but I can tell you that I have several and have been able to either adjust or modify the breast collars to fit horses from large cob-size horses (600-700 pounds) to my largest Percheron-Appaloosa cross mare (1200-1500pounds). A lot of the fit is dependent upon how the rigging on your saddle is set-up. The upper straps allow for a large degree of adjustment and I find that you can lose/gain space depending upon whether you attach the upper straps to the front rings/slots on your saddle or on the cinch rings. One trick I use from time-to-time is to use a double-ended snap to gain a few extra inches if I need them. I find these breast collars very versatile and a decent value for the cost. I hope this helps.

How do I know what size this is. my horse measures 25" from chest to withers. do you think it will fit?
Lauren G on Feb 17, 2014
Best Answer: It fit all of my horses other than the 17h one. I have several of these and if the horse/saddle/breast collar combo doesn't fit I have a few longer tugs to make it work.
