Rated 4 out of 5 by Great! My Morgan rests his butt on the back of my trailer and would rub his tail. Started using this and it works great! Only thing is it slips a little bit. My horse has a HUGE tail so the straps are at the very tip, so if your horse has a big tail strap it on tight! May 27, 2012

I am very hesitant about this product because of the extremely low price. Does it actually protect the top of the tail like a tail guard would or is it too thin and flimsy? Is it worth getting for long trailer hauls?

Best Answer: I use several of these with our horses. In preparation for showing at local 4-H shows, it works well to protect the tail from dirt and for the short distance we travel. If the horse has short hairs that escape at the top, I use vet wrap under the tail bag which might also be of help for long hauls since this helps keep it from slipping. In my opinion, this tail bag is definitely worth the money. Note: it is open at the bottom but long enough you can sew or tie it shut if you don't like this feature.
