purchasing this based on reviews. I will be doing cattle drive in January in Florida, and since I am traveling from mid Missouri it always helps to be prepared if its needed.

Worth keeping in every horse first aid kit, good price for the ease of use-- we prefer this to a feed dressing in cases where horse is in immediate need... in an emergency, this is the way to go!

I started using this product for pre-ride electrolytes and for during my 50 mile endurance rides. My horse finished the ride with excellent gut sounds and received A's the entire ride! Supplementing with this product as well as my other routine feeding additions to keep my horse sound and healthy in the weeks prior to and during a ride is a big plus. To finish is to win and finishing with a healthy digestive system is a bigger win!

how many doses in 1 syringe?
A shopper on Jun 29, 2015
Best Answer: It says to give 34 ounces per 1000 pounds, but this is how I use it. If my horse is really sweaty and could be drinking more and it is really hot, I give her the entire tube. If she just needs a little boost, I give her half one day and the other half the next day. I think that generally people do give the whole tube.

How often is this given to horses?
I run gaming horses in the summer, so being outside it tends to get hot & I worry about dehydration & minerals lost through sweat & such.
Do you give a dose after each workout, or once a week, or what?
A shopper on Mar 7, 2014
Best Answer: we do Long distance trail.. 6 to 8 hours 16 to 20+ miles. I carry it in the saddle bag. if my horse is sweating but drinking and eating --i don't bother but if we are working hard and he won't drink or nibble on the grass. then he gets a shot.... better to be safe. running hard your horse should be thirsty-- if it won't drink --give him the elecrolyte . you drink gatoraid --right!
