It works great on all of my horses but it has a really strange smell (like BBQ sauce). I highly recommend buying it if you haven't already but, I also recommend applying it with gloves so the grease and smell doesn't get all over you.

I love this product. Yes, it does smell, however, it works just dandy. I use this on all my horses for mane and tail growth. I use it in the late fall and winter months here in Texas. Unless you keep your horse stalled during the day do not use in the months they can sunburn, because they will. It does warn you on the bottle. Thanks Shapleys for a great product and product line.

Love the product, i have seen a noticeable amount of tail growth since i started applying it a couple months ago. It got rid of my geldings fungus on his leg in 2 days. I have had to cut back on using it b/c of the greasiness. although it is stinky from the sulfur and very greasy the product is still very good!

I rub this into my mares mane and tail roots, and then put Cowboy magic in the mane and tail and the put the tail in a tail bag, now her tail is beautiful!

I've had problems two years in a row with summer itch. Instead of using fly spray, I put MTG in a spray bottle and lightly sprayed our horses and brushed it in and it kept them from scratching their hair off and keeps the coat shiney and manes and tails manageable without having to buy other hair products.

If you are looking for something to relieve horse itch, gorw hair, give your pet's coat a shine, or just something to try out for an injury- this stuff works!
My 4 year old was stabled with a jenny and his tail was chewed. I have been using MTG 3x's a week for 2 weeks and have noticed a significant amount of growth in his mane and tail! They have gotten thicker and longer.
Also, the best stuff to use on cuts, scrapes, and other common coat injuries! He sleeps laying down all the time, and his hocks have been rubbing against the ground, causing broken skin and such. This stuff helped his skin grown back over the disturbed areas and his hair on top in less than a week! (he moves his shavings out of his stall, and sleeps on the harder ground)
Also, a mare at the barn tore up her knee and it was pretty gruesome. Put MTG on it, and her skin is showing less infection, and is healing.
It does wonders when you use it on horse coats that are dry, irritated, and itchy!
It does have alot of oil in it, so be careful not to put it under the saddle before a ride! It does somewhat have an unpleasant odor, but it is amazing stuff!
You really have to shake it up to get all the stuff off the bottom of the bottle, and distributed through the mix.
This product is awesome, and I don't know what I would have done without it!

MTG is a very effective way to treat fungus, the smell is pretty bad and sticks on you for a day or so, but it is worth it! After a couple of days fungus disapears!!!

I've been using this weekly for about 2 months(without even bathing, braiding, or tail bagging)and I can already tell his mane & tail are thicker and longer.

I love this product. I use it when my horses get scratching their tails. They stop scratching right away and it is excellent to help regrow the hair.

I accidentally cut my WP gelding's tail too short at the beginning of winter (so it wouldn't drag through the mud and ice and get all nasty) and it hasn't grown out much and it's thin, so I bought some MTG. I've been using it for a couple weeks and I can already see improvement! It smells horrible, like bacon and BBQ sauce, and its really oily, so be careful about spilling it :) Works like a charm though!

Great product. Works like it says. Animals never have had a bad reaction. Have even used it on a cat and 2 dogs with no problems. I mix it with my showsheen, spray it on all over. LOVE IT.

my Arabian's tail was chewed off to the hocks, someone suggested MTG. I ordered it, have used it barely a month now and WOW. 4 inches of growth already. SERIOUSLY, loving this stuff! And his mane is going nuts also, coming in almost half again as thick. It is greasy, it does smell a bit like smoke flavoring. I'll take it any day, it's working great. And, I used it on some fungus starting on my horse's heels, and a scrape on his leg, fantastic. The would stays clean, and is healing really fast and well. I am very happy.

I received my MTG and the shipping was super fast, and was the BEST price on the net. I heard that this product is also great for growing human hair (of course I will mix with an my essential/carrier oils). I will buy again if it does work. Thank you for GREAT customer service.

My Thoroughbred mare gets rain rot every winter. Last year it was really bad and I was trying all kinds of things, including Listerine and some other shampoos. Listerine didn't work at all, and the shampoos very minimally. Someone told me to try MTG and I am so glad I did because it WORKED. She got rid of her rain rot in a few days and i kept applying it all winter. By spring, all the hair had grown back and she had a beautiful sleek coat. She got rain rot again this winter and i've already started using my MTG. I think i'll start using it earlier next year, so maybe it will prevent it. Love this stuff!

We tried lots of stuff to get our jack to quit gnawing on his legs. M-T-G did the trick. Our thanks to a friend who told us about it!

My horse gets a fungus on his chest and mane once a year, which cause him to lose his hair. This product makes the hair grow back. A friend of mine said that she uses it on her mare's back legs where she gets fungus. She says MTG is the only thing that removes the fungus.

My horse had a bad reaction to this and he ended up losing more hair. The product irritated his skin so he rubbed his neck which created painful blisters. It took about two weeks for the blisters to scab over and the hair to start growing back. For anyone who has a horse with sensitive skin, i would not recommend MTG.

I bought this as my mares were rubbing their tails and I couldn't figure out the cause. Just a small amount of this rub deeply onto the base of thier tails and they stopped rubbing within a week. My grey who had nearly rub herself raw starting growing hair back quickly. Now I use is weekly on her and her tail is looking great. I also have another mare who came up with rain rot, so I spread some on the spots. They dried up quickly and are starting to grow hair again. I strongly reccomend this for skin/mane/tail issues. It does smell however, and lasts on your hands forever, use gloves and where clothes you don't worry about.

I'm not a fan of lotions & potions but this one really does work. My horse's winter rug rubbed off part of his mane & it just didn't grow back through the spring or summer. I have been applying this once a week for several weeks and the hair has not only grown back but is browing back thicker. The only thing I don't like about it is that it smells horrible & makes my hands smell for ages therfore I recommend wearing gloves.

I originally got this product because my tb mare had a horrible case of rain rot and NOTHING would help, i tried it on a whem and im soooo glad i did! it worked overnite and i could see the rain rot/scald literally being washed off of her the next day! i learnde later it works great on cuts and scraps too and can speed the hair regrowth rate dramatically :) definatly recommend this product since it can be used in so many ways! a must have in the barn

I fell in love with this product :)
It does WONDERS for hair growth, which is exactly what I needed.
The ONLY issue is it smells like bacon and is a little greasy- a little goes a long way! I suggest using gloves to apply to avoid the bacon-y smell.
Other than that, this is great :)
