Is there an on and off switch ?
A shopper on Jan 1, 2015
Best Answer: Yes, the only thing is that you will need to buy somewhere is a rod which goes into the ground and the green clip is clipped to. The button you push to turn on and off when on the red light blinks.

I have a PVC pipe portable corral to use for overnight camping but my horse likes to chew it and move it around. I'm planning to wrap polytape around the PVC and electrify it to minimize nocturnal wanderings. Will this charger work for this application?
A shopper on Aug 29, 2015
Best Answer: I have no idea. I have never done that before, but, I would think it would work since clips are made from similar material and PVC doesn't conduct. It would have to be tight around it though so there are no gaps for sparks which will burn your polytape.

will this work with the wirebraided poly rope? and do you need fiberglass posts?
Deb B on May 8, 2015
Best Answer: Hi Deb, that is exactly what I used and worked great. I also put a tent stake in the ground as a ground rod. Don't know if that made a difference or not, I just did it. A group of us riders like to ride to the local BBQ which is a 6 mile ride one way and though the owner has put up a hitching post, it's not enough for our group so I go before the ride and set up a corral with this set up and I love not having to worry about the horses tied to a hitching post where I can't see them from the restaurant. Very pleased with this product.

Do I need to use a ground rod with this portable charger? Thanks for your help.
Mary D on Feb 28, 2014
Best Answer: Yes I had to buy a ground rod- I found one that is kinda portable.

Does this product come with instructions? I am attempting to make my own portable corral kit. I don't know what connectors I will need. If I choose not to hang this on the fence then does it have a way for me to have a wire connect to it to a clamp on the fence tape?
