I bought a pair of these for my TB (size medium) when I first got him. I used them for gaming, cows, and everyday riding. They made his legs too hot! even when riding for less than an hour his legs would be drenched in sweat under the boots and sweat would drip down from under the boots. The fetlock strap also wasn't wide enough so the the other part of the boot would pop out from under the fetlock strap while running, I was constantly fixing them. The quality of the materials and stitching seemed good. I sold these and bought a pair of Legacy's which are great!

I have only used these a few times, but in several different scenarios. One was a speed show, barrels, poles, cones, etc. Another was trails in a wide variety of ground cover/obstacles.
These boots stayed on really well, fast, slow, jumping low logs, etc. We have lots of sand, loose rock, clay, etc, and after a couple of long days, the dirt/sand that crept up into the boot was amazingly small.
Dirt we were running in was very deep ( nice stuff for barrels n poles ). Another arena was kind of a sandy/dirt/ tiny gravel mix, not my fave, but its what was there. Again, very little dirt or grit got in.
My horse is about 15.3 hands, a big girl, but only avg size hoofs. first time I bought large, definitely too big, sent them back WITHOUT a hitch, got the Mediums, they fit fantastic.
These are not as protective as a genuine barrel boot, or boot/bell combo, but my horse is more apt to clip the inside of her leg, than over-reach, so for my uses, these seem to be a really nice, easy to put on, STAYS where you put them boot.
The velcro with 4 attachment points, is secure, and you can adjust how tight you want what pressure where.
I dont get to ride on consistent basis, so it will be a while before I update on how these are holding up to wear and tear.
Initial reports though is 5 stars across the board. The red boot looks great on my Tobiano brown n white paint mare.
Got these on sale here at horse.com. I would get another pair, even with so little use, they do seem like they will easily last for my uses and get my moneys worth.

I love these boots. Use them whenever i am riding. they haave kepy my mare and gelding safe from tons of injuries that they could have gotten without the boots. Loved them even more once my vet told my friends that she could ride her horse (who was recovering from an old tendon injury)sooner than origianlly anticpated. I always have a pair for my horses plus a spare. A MUST HAVE for any horse owner

I love these! I ordered the blue pair for my 24 year old mare, and they save her from all possible injuries when I am barrel racing and polo bending! At first it was hard to tight them enough and they keep slipping, once they got worn in a little they were easier to tighten. Would by another pair in a heart beat!

I love these so much, they're easy to put on and take off, toss them in the washer and the outside looks like new, but getting the inside like new takes a bit more scrubbing. Only problem I have had with them is once I was on trail. The stream crossing washed out and a ton of sand was there(not that I knew that at first). from a riders point of view it looked pretty safe, not too deep of sand, and embankment up was only a foot maximum. well when my horse and I got in it the sand/mud was at least a foot deep, plus he had to get up the embankment. He would have made it up if his back legs hadn't of gotten stuck in the sand from the SMB's. He ended up with his knees on the sandy embankment, and his back legs working their way out. Without the boots on he probably would have not gotten stuck. Once free and up, I checked his legs, front boots hardly budged, back boots slid down, but both were still on(also he has no shoes so all good there too). we took a different way home. These boots also collect burrs which can be annoying. Still I highly recommend them to all.

I've been using a pair of these for a little over a year on my elderly horse who bowed a tendon. They have been great for giving him some extra support on trail rides and for arena work. But, they haven't held up very well. The stitching that holds the straps on is coming out, and the lining is separating from the outer layer. I only use them once or twice a week and expected longer wear than this. I'm ordering another pair and hope they last better.

I got the royal blue color for my big grey thoroughbred and he looked great in them! only problem was i couldnt use them for cross country as they absorbed water and retained it too much and really slowed him down, so i wouldn't recommend them to someone who did eventing or went in the river on trail rides. other than that they have great support. if they're not tight enough they slip a little but that's not too bad. only other problem i had is it lets in a bit of sand from the arena but it didnt affect my horse. the stitching on the velcro eventually came undone a bit, so im ordering some more, but overall i love the sports medicine boots!!

These are great for protection, I ride an accident prone thoroughbred who was probably saved by these boots multiple times on cross country. I cant count how many time we have hit the hard jumps! But I am a very little girl and I can not get the tight enough. When we work they loosen because of the material and slip down. They can still protect then but there is no support. My fronts stay up much better, maybe because of my bellboots. But they are entirely too hard to make tight enough to stay up.
